@Bident - great idea to send your son across to NYC to study! West to east coast visiting trips must be really exciting :D

In truth, Lindsey, my son was the one who chose to study here. If it were up to my wife, she would have had him stay at a nearby California school. :D I was leaning towards NYC though not so much for our benefit, but I thought it would be good for my son to experience something entirely different and new.

From my time in Chicago last weekend. I stayed across the street from the John Hancock tower; the 2nd tallest building in the world when it was completed in 1968. Now quite a ways down the list, but still pretty tall at 1,128 feet (1,500 with the antenna).

I think this is easily my favorite picture I've ever taken. On a catamaran coming back to port in Panama City, Panama, while trying to outpace a storm coming in from the Pacific. Sadly I can't seem to upload the highest resolution version, but regardless I hope you enjoy it.

My sister always wanted to see the Canal, a bucket list item for her, so I joined her on the adventure. It was awe inspiring seeing only gravity and water lifting these massive ships effortlessly.

I’m not sure what the file size limit is, but the one you uploaded was over 10 mb.

Day One of walking weekend in the New Forest. 10-mile guided walk with forest rangers, really interesting.

On the way back to from Hong Kong, we flew under and past FedEx. From the cockpit of a 747.

I got a new camera so went out for a super quick walk at lunchtime - nothing interesting caught my eye except for this little lost teddy I found resting against a tree, so snapped a couple of pictures and then made it black and white in Lightroom mobile to see how it turned out.

@Stif I thought for a second that it had a CW logo. Gave me quite a turn, it did!

One for the fishermen amongst us, which from memory includes @Viognier @rkovars @Cpocock

Whilst having lunch by a lake after a fell walk I noticed a mayfly hatch. This one fluttered in my direction and took a rest…

A few were, but not with the intensity often seen on chalk streams.

It was at Crummock water in the Lake District earlier in the week. I don’t think it is stocked so would have been wild browns or perch (it also contains char and pike, although I imagine they would have been lurking in the deeper water).

Unlike on moving water I was able to watch any mayfly that emerged struggling to break the surface tension and thinking if you don’t get off now you will be snaffled.
