Our cabin in the Smoky Mountains had a nice view from the deck.

Beautiful churches on Malta. St John’s co-cathedral in Valletta, Mosta Rotunda, St Paul’s co-cathedral in Mdina: Baroque is not my favourite style, I prefer Gothic, but they’re still amazing!

Indeed. I passed it on my morning commute for 15 years.

@Thegreyman
Patrick there are cheaper places in the city for you to buy a pied-à-terre. :)

Did you visit any ADs at the location?

Haha Neil, yes don’t think we’ll be buying a flat around here! Our hotel is right at the entrance to the power station. I did briefly walk round yesterday and saw the plethora of AD’s but the boss wasn’t for wasting any time lingering at them, I’ll see if I can break free for a while over the weekend!

I remember sitting across the Thames from Battersea Power Station maybe 15+ years ago when it was being sold for £500m and dreaming of how to get my hands on that much money and what I'd do with the building if I owned it. I think it might be my favourite building in the world. Shame to turn it into something as obvious as shops and hotels. I had awesome plans for it :D

It certainly is a beautiful building, now an upmarket shopping mall with very expensive apartments on the upper floors. You can get a lift up to the top of one of the chimneys where there is a viewing platform at 109 metres. I just love the brickwork, 6 million of them apparently Image

Here are a few photos of it from our hotel rooftop and also from a walk we did.

We had tickets to take a train ride and a cream tea courtesy of Sue's sons and daughter being a birthday treat for me (and Sue). This was at the East Somerset Railway at Cranmore which is about 10 miles from home.

It was most enjoyable.

@Thegreyman
Thanks for the photographic tour Patrick :thumbup:
I love the amount of vision it must have taken to renovate this building. Even if my visions were loftier :lol: It's great to see that so much of the roof space is visible from inside. My trip down to Maidenhead - whenever that's possible - is going to have to be extended to take a wander round Battersea Power Station too. Thanks for the inspiration and enjoy your stay :D

Battersea is now an amazing place to visit and spend some time. If you can, do go up the chimney lift - it's great. You do have to book though.

Been in New York City the past several days visiting my son. Here’s the view from our hotel in SoHo looking at the Hudson River:
