Re: is it me or...
Do you honestly expect respectable ebay fee avoiders to actually engage with their buying public before attempting to sell their wares?

lol.... no fees and a captive audience, let me ponder that one...
Still think 50 posts should be pre-requisite for sales corner.

they make an account to patrol the for sale.. and wait for a good deal and get it fast.. and disappear.

Re: is it me or...
It doesn't seem that the lack of engagement and a proven 'track record' is putting buyers off from dealing with these newer members, so although it could well be considered ebay fee dodging, it's also great business sense if it results in a no fees sale.
Ebay buys everyone more protection but comes at a price. In sales corner you aren't just buying the watch, you are buying the buyer in terms of trading confidence, so longevity of membership and / or feedback reviews will inspire more confidence in potential trades. People have to make up their own minds on entering into transactions with untried / untested sellers.

leoo
You'll not be aware but this subject is regularly bought up here (a search might help you 'cos I can't be arsed). Members will argue both sides of the coin.
The bottom line seems to be (spammers apart)
(1) No Forum rules are being broken but it's arguable that etiquette is (but what does that mean these days anyway to the vast majority).
(2) As no Rules are being broken it is poor form I believe to trash the sale within the thread. Now that is indefensible because as we are often pointing out to people 'rules are rules'.
(2) There is no obligation to read the thread.
(3) It might be something you want to buy and at a good price.
(4) It's Hans' Forum and he's happy with it. If he wasn't then I'm sure he would introduce a minimum posting limit.

You'll have to explain as with most American humour I never quite understand it .
If you're taking the **** you need to be a little bit more direct with me.
