Well what did you expect. :)

The watch collecting game is rife with strange expressions, that seem weird to a normal non watch person.

Which are your favourite such expressions?

Favourite being because you find the use particularly sad, or favourite because you actually think it’s cool. Please specify which of these categories your favourites are in. :)

My favourites (all in the sad category :)) are:
- pulled the trigger.
- new boots/shoes.
- this bad boy.
- wrist presence.

Yes ok, it’s a slow day, pouring with rain and I am stuck indoors.

Nice boots, Neil, from a fav brand of mine. If you’re ever looking for a crampon compatible pair of B2 boots, and you’re a size 10UK shoe size, please get in touch. These are for sale!

Zamberlan were my 3 season boot of choice, La Sportiva for the winter stuff.

^^^^ You should have stayed home, Neil. It's fine and dry in the south of the UK today.

Back on topic;-

"Loving this . . . .". How can one love an inanimate object?

Or in the words of an old Schoolboy joke;-. "Love her? You better marry her then".

People who talk on watch forums about a 14270 or a SKX007 without even the courtesy of informing people what brand they are talking about. As if we are expected to know.

“If that was…I’d be jumping all over it.”

First pair of La Sportiva for me Des. I was looking for something lighter than the norm, but still stiff enough and grippy enough for rugged tracks and basic scrambling, but not too stiff to make walking on normal paths tiring.

"What's your lowest price bud?" Happily this particular facet of facebake market place has not found its way to this forum. So no it is not a favourite. :problem:

Any reference to any watch as "my baby" also pleases me not at all.

I cringe at many of the common phrases already named. One that’s starting to grate which I use: “design language” when talking of a brand’s identity. And “colo(u)rway” simply sounds alien to me.

By the way, I had a pair of Vasque leather hiking boots for about 26 years before they gave up the ghost. My second pair. Apparently Vasque has altered the design of the shoe last and they no longer feel good to me. I’m questing for new boots though I don’t really need anything but my barn boots currently.

Have never understood the use of 'colourway' when 'colour' almost always means the same thing

Tool watch. I think it's commonly used to describe a watch that isn't too precious so you're not afraid to wear it when you're getting dirty in the yard, surfing or whatnot. But really, none of them are tools, they're jewelery, we just don't want to admit it!

Rocking this bad boy today - seriously, are you 13??

Has to be said that I’ve read this elsewhere and never on this forum. This is a civilised watch place :D
