If only I could
It started off as a great idea. Spend a few minutes swapping straps between my C7 and C700. I thought it would refresh each watch. I thought, despite proving ineptitude previously, that I could change the straps easily.
I have a spring bar tool, I have a super bright light and I even have my newly acquired reading glasses on (I must be getting old). I'm sitting somewhere comfortable.
But can I get the bloody bracelet off the C7? Nope. Not a bit of it. It budged and moved a bit, but won't fully disengage. So now the bracelet is bloody dislodged but won't come off.
For the C700, more progress. I got the rubber strap off but that was it. But can I get the leather strap on? Nope.
So now I have both my C7 and C700 unusable. Bloody nora.
For many this would be a walk in the park. For me this is an immensely frustrating thing. I'll need to revisit this when I've calmed down. Thankfully I stopped short of luzzing my nice watches out of the window - just.
That's it - rant over. But if you are nimble fingered and find this type of easy do spare a thought for me (and others?) who start such things with great intent and enthusiasm and end up frustrated and without two watches.
I have many more expletives I'd like to share including some new ones I've made up. I need to go and have a lie down in a darkened room.

Re: If only I could
I share your frustration.
I took the leather strap off my C7 when I first bought it, but neither I nor a local jeweller could fit the bracelet. The watch ended up going back to CW to have the bracelet fitted!

Re: If only I could
I've got an extra-small bergeon tool, which seems to help. It is also very sharp. When changing a bracelet it's rare that I escape without some sort of flesh-wound.

Re: If only I could
Thank you both for your support. I have actually got a bloodied thumb and a hole in my jeans from the experience so far. I am going to Amazon to see if I can get a new spring bar tool as well
Re: If only I could
Also had to send my C7 back to CW HQ as whilst wearing it one of the shoulders dislodged but the pins stayed located (if that makes sense) I tried and tried for what seemed like hours to refit it myself before I bit the bullet and contacted the saint!
Re: If only I could
IIRC Guy (Bahnstormer_vRS) had to send the C700 he bought from me back as well.
I'd taken the bracelet off and fitted a CW rubber strap, but didn't want to risk re-fitting the bracelet, then when he took delivery he could not fit it either.
Clearly an issue with the C7/C70/C700 case as I have easily swapped straps/bracelets on my C4, C40 and C60s

Re: If only I could
Thanks for the comments. I feel slightly better about this now despite finding more blood on the other hand. @Simmo, I think I do get it - something has dislodged on the bracelet leaving it with a razor sharp edges- but it is still in place. Will try and post a pic later

Re: If only I could
There was a minor issue with some C7 bracelet shoulder pieces for a short time awhile back. So this wasn't you.Simmo wrote:Also had to send my C7 back to CW HQ as whilst wearing it one of the shoulders dislodged but the pins stayed located (if that makes sense) I tried and tried for what seemed like hours to refit it myself before I bit the bullet and contacted the saint!
The C7 bracelet is a tight fit and sometimes better coming in from the top of the watch rather than from underneath. Just be certain to tape the lugs to prevent scratching.

Re: If only I could
@Scrogg - quite correct Simon. Had to send my C700 back to CWL to get the bracelet fitted.
@Kip - Scott @ CWL told me there is a knack to fitting the bracelet on the C700. Perhaps its the 'in from the top' you suggest.

Re: If only I could
Yes indeed, the CW bracelets I've come across in the past are exceedingly well put together.
Nay room for a bugs dick of space or movement just like it should be.

Re: If only I could
This is exactly what puts me off changing the bracelet on my CW's
CW C9 SH21 | C60 Apex SH21 | C65 SH21
Ernst Benz Chronoscope DLC
Oris WilliamsF1 Day Date 2004
Phoibos Leviathan DLC
Seiko 5 Sports Orange "Baby" Monster
Tag Aquaracer | F1 Panda
Too many watches, not enough time :(

Re: If only I could
I tried to change the CW bracelet once on my Trident GMT.
I would rather have a burley man kick me in the testicles than go through that again.

It is a testament as to just how hard these things are to change.STodd wrote:Really..?!smegwina wrote:I tried to change the CW bracelet once on my Trident GMT.
