Re: I know its a Watch Forum but What TV do you watch
Mostly mindless TV includes:
How I Met Your Mother
Family Guy
Iron Chef America
Diners, Drive ins and Dives
Archer
All sorts of sports, particularly ice hockey and American football
Slightly more mindful TV includes:
Mad Men
Game of Thrones
Shows that I plan to watch eventually:
Breaking Bad
Luck
The Wire
Shows that I gave up on with much sadness:
Battlestar Galactica
True Blood
Also, as far as fantasy goes, Game of Thrones is relatively low magic. The books (at least the first three) are some of the most engaging, grown up "fantasy" that I've read. Hope that the show can hold up.

Only have bog standard Sky, happy with that to be honest. Never enough good stuff on to be that worried and things like the IT crowd and Alan partridge will put on and watch all the way through so cost wise aint bad.village wrote:I work shifts as well....Sky+ is your friend.androo wrote:Tend not to watch anything that is done as a series as I work shifts and end up missing a part or two.
Failing that,as you say,buy the DVD from Amazon and flog it on afterwards....or rent them. I've just bought Sons Of Anarchy on DVD for that exact reason, and got the two series of Sherlock (superb by the way) from my Tesco DVD rental account.
Also enjoyed the new Battlestar. Bit peeved the last series was split in two due to a writers strike but they still charged the same as a full series.

Geography Channel
Time Team
Top Gear (unless it's really stupid)
Mock the Week

Actually...talking about costume dramas, anyone watched The Tudors?
I thought it was superb & very enjoyable. Not completely historically accurate but pretty good nonetheless.
(plenty of bodice ripping as well
