He Who Hesitates Is Lost
I am so annoyed with myself and wonder if others have paid the price for shilly-shallying too long.
Last Saturday a good guy on TZ (loads of quality posts you understand) put a 2011 Vespa GTS 300 Super up for sale on Sales Corner for a very good price. It had done 400 miles only. I should and could have bought it there and then. Did I? Did I hell as like. He put it on Ebay as a Classified Ad last night and I finally made up my mind to buy it. I texted him, and spoke with him on the phone to be told...........surprise, surprise..........he had sold it earlier today.
Sometimes I really, really hate myself.
Does this kindle any memories for anyone?
PS To any would be speed posters out there, this is what a Forum is all about.

Bad luck Scooter. I know how you feel though. I am a very cautious buyer, and I've missed out on perfect purchases quite a few times because of that.

I have missed out on some bargains by being too cautious but then again it means that I have nit been stung.

Would we have needed to start calling you "Two Scooters"?
Could have been worse, it could've been a watch.

Bad luck, scooter!
Back in December I wandered into a little watch & clock repair shop in Norwich. He usually has half a dozen vintage watches for sale, and there was a lovely Bucherer. Didn't buy it. Went back first Saturday in January armed with cash and ready to haggle, and he'd sold it that morning!
I sympathise!

Thanks All
That would have been the incentive I need to take and pass 'The Test'. I would have had no hesitation in selling my current one once that had been achieved.
I like my watches a lot but I love my scooters.

I'm afraid not. The watch would have come a very poor second.downer wrote:Could have been worse, it could've been a watch.

Oh man, what a ****. Happens to me all the time. Nearly lost the C5 for hesitating. I always try and look at it like it wasn't meant to be and something better will now come along that I wouldn't have been in a position to buy if I'd have got the original thing I was after.

Thanks for that.downer wrote:
I go to Poole maybe once or twice a month but this place is on a road I don't travel upon. I will have to check it out. Although it seems to be mainly bikes they have got the one Vespa GTS 300. The trouble is that whilst the same price as the one I have missed out on, it's two years older and done another 1000 miles.
I will have to regroup again.

Re: He Who Hesitates Is Lost
Happened to me loads of times
Makes you feel quite sick at the time, but, if it ain't meant to be... Something better has always come along shortly after and I'm sure, will again in this, recent case.
Perhaps this will give you the shove to take your test and then get the scooter of your dreams. Perhaps a proper vintage one all restored and mint?
Or perhaps one like the little dream bike I saw at Plymouth "Cap;n Jaspers". Not sure what it was, but it looked pretty standard and old. Until you looked at the exhausts... yes, two of them. And vents cut into the front storage locker...
It had a Yam 350 lc motor in it!

Bad luck mate. Maybe a better one will come along. Or not. Often missed things due to waiting to think. Now a bit more impulsive and have got some bargins and also spent over the odds so swings and roundabouts. Just had an impulse moment and purchased a pair of boots that cost more than a 2011 fle
But finding good footware that fits my mutant feet in Cordovan leather at the price I paid may not happen again and they should last a good few years.

Crikey androo, that's a lot. No pictures required of said feet, I hasten to add. They sound horrible enough as it is and I've got a thing about feet. Basically I don't like them.
Why do I feel worse today than I did yesterday?

No worries, they are not bad looking feet just very wide but short. Nice looking boots though Not a link to a pic of my feet
It is amazing how many people tell you "I have only just sold it" or "I sold it only this morning" Like you care that you missed it by seconds and it makes all the difference. Or do they do it cos they know it makes you feel a bit worse and in reality they are just evil
