Forum Names

Post by Bident »

Hi all,

I've been curious about many of the Forum Names people have chosen and wondered if anybody would be willing to share their meaning, particularly the not so obvious ones (I kind of figured out Welsh Lad, for example, although perhaps I assume too much). For my part, when I first joined the Forum I had purchased a C65 Trident. Thinking Trident would be too confusing given the name of CW's flagship line of watches, I chose Bident, the two pronged fork wielded by Hades. It also happens that I am an identical twin, so I thought Bident captured that in a way.

Perhaps this has already been covered in past topics but a quick search on my part did not find anything.
Best regards,
John

I've always called my wee boy Bungle behind his back. In a bid to remain anonymous and under the radar at the bookies I used The Bungle-ator for something there and whilst signing up on here it came back to me whilst I was stumped for another psudenym.

Edit: if I was signing up again I'd definitely be Sue Denholm.

Mine is a quote from Virgil that means Love Conquers Everything.

It was abbreviated to AVO on Day 1 of my membership, and most people just call me that.

One or two have tried calling me Amor but I only accept that from those who are Spanish or Portuguese, female and good looking. :D

I chose 'scooter' because of my lifetime love of them.

I was a mod in the 60's and as they say it is 'A Way Of Life'. That's also the reason why scooter is spelt with a small 's' as it should never occur in a sentence with a big 'S'.

I ride a Honda Monkey motorbike.

If you search on 'Forum Name' you will find old threads should you wish.

Just used an old forum name as couldnt be bothered to remember a new one... its a throwback to membership of too many car forums and specifically the make I owned a few of and loved over the years (not now). 'So' at the start not being pretentious (well not meaning to be), its simply 2 of my initials but I forgot to capitalise the O.

I work in an industrial boiler house and we use a thermal oil called Dyphenal, Dyphenol Oxide or DPDPO. There are various trade names for this product but being as our factory was initially owned by ICI, we used their own brand, Thermex. Thus, my boiler house is called the Thermex Boilerhouse and this is still the case now, even though we use other brands. Hence, Thermexmen.

Well My first name is David, my second name begins with a C and I'm in the UK....so DavecUK . It's also the same name I use online everywhere else.

I'm not as inventive as you I am afraid, although I did think your name meant "2 teeth"....I thought perhaps you had lost the others in your youth and had visions of an 80 year old gumming their way around town in a set of dentures. ;)

My username MiniMpi is to do with my love of all things Mini & MINI cars.

My second Mini was a 1998 Mini Mpi, so called as it had multipoint injection hence the username.
