I was doing well and somehow top of the league after game week 3.
On the premise that you don't prosper if you wait and then react, I made some brave changes for week 4...

Removing Haaland has been a nightmare and I have now brought him back in, meaning he'll likely stop scoring now.

The league at the moment is split between those at the top who have Haaland and maybe even captained him, and those that don't.

Still all to play for, an additional new start for the World Cup, fixture pile ups and injuries will shake things up. Bring on the next 33 game weeks 8)

Well, it's time for our first Manager of the Month award of the season.

Let's look at the Top 5 after the first five gameweeks:

MotM 202208 August.JPG

Congratulations go to Dan on winning August Manager of the Month!

There are still 33 gameweeks to go, so it's all to play for! :)

Don't forget the deadline for Gameweek 6 is tomorrow - Saturday 2nd Sept 11.00 BST.

Well done Dan

At 76 points off the lead I'm already resigned to fighting for a top half finish, in no small part due to putting Ødegaard on the bench for both weeks he was good. Doing the obvious and captaining Salah every game would have been an easy extra 26 points too. Spoiler: Salah is not my captain today and I've once again benched Ødegaard for fear of a post-injury cameo - what could go wrong

All the Premiership matches for September have now been played, although there were fewer than expected due to Gameweek 7 being postponed due to the death of the Queen. Here are the top 4 managers of the month for September:

MotM 202209 September.JPG

Well done to John - you are September Manager of the Month. \:D/ Special mention to Guy as well, who had a great September after a difficult August for him! :)

This means that leaders the overall league at this point are:

Overall at end 202209 September - Top.JPG

Well done to Jane, who is just one point clear of Daniel. It's all very tight at the top and there is still a long way to go.

The deadline for Gameweek 9 selections is 11.00 BST on Saturday 1st October 2022.

Thanks for the mention Steve; its appreciated although looking at the points for the month it is all pretty tight towards the top and, much as I had a good month it has merely served to prevent me being cast adrift at the bottom of the table (where I seem to be firmly rooted).

Onwards . . .

All the Premiership matches for October have now been played. It was a packed month with 6 gameweeks included, so lots of points were scored.
Here are the top 3 managers of the month for October:

MotM 202210 October.JPG

Well done to Daniel - you are October Manager of the Month. \:D/

This means that leaders the overall league at this point are:

Overall at end 202210 October - Top.JPG

Well done again to Daniel, your Manager of the Month performance has taken you from 2nd place at the end of September to 1st place at the end of October. You've also opened up a bit of a gap already, which we all need to try to close!

The deadline for Gameweek 15 selections is 13.30 GMT on Saturday 5th November 2022.

Although we are only mid-way through November, the Premier League has now paused until Boxing Day due to the World Cup. That means that after just two gameweeks it is time to award the November Manager of the Month.

The top 4 managers of the month for November were:

MotM 202211 November.JPG

Well done to Mark - you are November Manager of the Month. \:D/

This means that the leaders of the overall league at this point are:

Overall at end 202211 November - Top.JPG

Daniel remains at the top with a sizeable 58 point lead. Is that already enough? Has he peaked too early? What will happen to form and fitness after the World Cup? Who knows. We will need to tune in again after Christmas to find out!

Congrats to those at the top and sorry for having finally given in and cursing Haaland (you can see when I picked him - less points in three games than any two before )

With unlimited free transfers after the World Cup I'm still dreaming of a top half finish and December being another short month Manager of the Month is a possibility too :silent:

Just a quick reminder that, now that the World Cup is over, the Premier League returns on Monday 26th December.

The deadline for selections for Gameweek 17 is 11.00 GMT 26th December 2022.

Also, please note that all Fantasy managers have unlimited transfers to use up until the Gameweek 17 deadline.

Time to find your thinking caps and put them on again! :)

A quick reminder that Gameweek 18 finished this evening and Gameweek 19 starts immediately tomorrow, i.e. barely any gap.

The deadline for selections for Gameweek 19 is 16.00 GMT 2nd January 2023.

Please also note that both Fulham and Chelsea play twice in Gameweek 19.

Well, December's football was over in a flash, which means that after just two gameweeks (as per November) it is time to award the December Manager of the Month prize.

The top 4 managers of the month for December were:

MotM 202212 December.JPG

It's nice to see a new name at the top for a change, so a particular "well done" to John - you are December Manager of the Month. \:D/

This means that the leaders of the overall league at the end of 2022 are:

Overall at end 202212 December - Top.JPG

Daniel has extended his lead at the top to 62 points, so there is no sign of him peaking yet. But we're still not quite at the halfway point of the season yet - that will happen after this coming gameweek - so, anything could still yet happen.

Final reminder - don't forget that the deadline for Gameweek 19 selections is 16.00 GMT today.

I've just realised that I haven't done the January Manager of the Month post yet, and the next round of games has already started! #-o

So, better late than never, here we go...

The top 3 managers of the month for January were:

MotM 202301 January.JPG

Congratulations to Steve for a brilliant performance in January, particularly as he is currently 22nd out of 24 in the overall standings at the moment. But, never mind that - you are January Manager of the Month. \:D/

This means that the leaders of the overall league at this point are:

Overall at end 202301 January - Top.JPG

There is no change in the top two and Daniel has extended his lead from 62 to 72 points over the month. Well done to him.

Some great scores at the top of the league. Around 1300 would likely lead most mini leagues out there and Daniel in first is in circa the top 3000 out of 11 million managers worldwide! Well done .

Congratulations to the monthly top 3 too .

I think I am targeting top 10 or top 5 in this league with a lot of luck along the way that is.
