I think the really fabulous thing here is what a great range of watches can make us individually feel fabulous.

I agree. And to me they are not all watches I would choose to wear but I still find them all fabulous

Correlation or causation? :)

I don’t have any watch that will cause me to feel fabulous.

I do though have a few watches where there is a correlation between me being likely to feel there are fabulous aspects about the day and wearing particular watches.

You should have Neil. A number of your watches would make me feel pretty fabulous. A lovely watch is perfectly capable of causation, trust me. 😉

Des I am fortunate to have many watches that make me smile.

And yes there are a few that when wearing - I think “that has been a great (fabulous) day”.

I was trying to get my head around which came first, the chicken or the egg. :)

I am at my happiest when…

1). walking a mountain ridge on a sunny day.
2). coastal walk, followed by a swim.
3). staying overnight in an excellent restaurant with a great wine list.
4). family gatherings with our children and grandchildren.

Even better if I can combine all of the above. On that basis I thought what watch(s) am I likely to be wearing, on occasions that I think “that has been a fabulous day”.

There are a couple of dress watches that I typically wear if going out for a great meal, or that will appear at family events. Equally there are watches that I typically take on our regular mountain or coastal walking holidays. I wear them because I enjoy wearing them and on reflection I accept they do enhance my enjoyment of the day.

So yes they have added to a fabulous day. :)

I will pick one, that in the past few years has mainly been worn for 1-4, far from the maddening crowd.

That is a great post, Neil. I do love a great chronograph and that is certainly one, truly gorgeous I might add. I had another Chronograph of yours in mind when I was thinking about about the watches of yours I've seen - the JLC retrograde Reverso. I like the fact that you got me thinking about correlation or causation, it's an interesting idea where material goods are concerned. I think both can apply. I think given your interests and how you most enjoy your free time, perhaps 'nature or nurture' might be a more apt concept. But to be bang on maybe nurtured in nature might be where you get the greatest enjoyment from your watches. Again, the Daytona is just stunning.

My definition of feeling Fabulous is about the situation and/or people I am seeing.
For instance, at the weekend I was visiting my younger brother and his family and I usually wear my Silver Snoopy as my two nephews love playing with the watch and watching Snoopy “fly” across space. That makes me feel great that they are happy and enjoying the watch.
There are other occasions that lend themselves to particular watches which also makes me feel great.
However, the one watch I always “default” to is my Azzuro Bel Canto on a blue CW cordovan. I never get bored of this watch!
