Autosport has moved from being a weekly magazine, to monthly.
This month's issue arrived this morning

. . . .perfectly time for the advert on page 3

Re: F1 2025 - Motorsport thread
Here are some photos from my trip to the F1 Exhibition at ExCel London on Sunday morning. If you are due to visit this exhibition before it closes on 2nd March you might not want to view the photos to prevent spoiling the in-person effect.
I’ve been a follower of F1 for many many years, have been fortunate to attend several GPs getting close to the cars but I still got a lot from this exhibition. Crowds weren’t too bad and it wasn’t particularly difficult to take some photos without bodies immediately in front of you.
Towards the end of the approximate 2 hour “immersion” walk-through there is a display of a car (well what's left of it anyway) and videos on 2 x large screens of a F1 "occurrence" that staggered me (yet again) even though I had seen it live on Sky F1 when it happened and have also seen numerous replays. I have purposely tried not to give too much away and, again, if you are going to attend this exhibition you might prefer not to view the last batch of photos or maybe even none of them.
I hope these are of interest.
Amazing difference between modern drivers lying down virtually to the old upright position at the back at the rear few dummies.
The wet tyres wouldn't look out of place on a tractor.
Mercedes .........
The subject in these photos consistently blows my mind. The accident, the damage, how Grosjean survived the crash and then managed to escape the fireball and the brave people that helped him. On Sunday while standing watching the whole event played back on 2 huge screens I was still shouting internally for someone to get to him and save his life. Thankfully he got out by a combination of his determination and the assistance of marshalls and medical staff.

This can just be seen in the background of the photos of the dummy drivers.
This area was probably the most congested area crowd wise possibly due to how much detail there was to see in that area and that it was all static, i.e. no videos, so people moved on slowly.
What did you think of the exhibition as a whole?
Re: F1 2025 - Motorsport thread
I also went to the exhibition late last year - thought it was great, really well presented and well worth going.
The remains at the end were very thought provoking and amazing he managed to walk away - like you I was watching live

I enjoyed seeing some bits and pieces in person. I thought for a long time armchair F1 fan there was lots of information I already knew or felt I could gloss over.Mikkei4 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 9:50 amThis can just be seen in the background of the photos of the dummy drivers.

The collection of loads of helmets (Button absent!) was cool, as was the demonstration of driving position changes over time. The real draw was the Grosjean chassis. Having watched that live, and remembering saying to my wife at the time I think we've just seen someone die, it was equally amazing and harrowing spending time examining and contemplating what remained. It was also the first time I'd seen the "proper" British GP trophy up close. That was another highlight, as it's a real piece of history for my decades of watching.
I didn't spend as long as I thought I would there, likely because I'm a huge nerd and know-it-all anyway

Re: F1 2025 - Motorsport thread
It feels like this could be the most exciting and competitive F1 season for some time. Difficult to see one team dominating with wins potentially more evenly spread amongst McLaren, RB, Mercedes and Ferrari. I will be rooting for the British drivers who all have a chance of winning races - LH, LN and GR.
