. . . . . . . Other outlets have suggested that it’s his management style.
. . .. . ..
That's my view, with the circumstantial evidence of leaks coming from a Dutch newspaper, which might imply a connection to Max Verstappen. :-k :-k

I went to the first round of the 2024 season of Formula Off Road in Iceland last weekend. It's a series that definitely didn't usurp its name. It was good fun to watch. Here are a few pictures from the event.

I don't think.it is CW, but the logo on the rear aerofoil of the McLarens looks like the CW logo.

Maybe Hamilton has picked the wrong year to bail out of Mercedes :D

What a great race! A bit gutted for Lando, but at least one of the three Brits won!

Genuine emotion from Lewis too, which shows how much it meant to him.

Does anyone else have the feeling that the GP stewards have lately got much tougher on Verstappen?

Was it the American race where Norris came off worse? Verstappen has had all the penalties since, and probably rightly so..

There's enough races left for Norris to win the championship I think.

^^^ It's shaping up for a really exciting end to the season. I'm glad the stewards are paying more attention to Verstappen's driving style. This afternoon's Mexico race is going to be fascinating I think

Well done Verstappen! Not my favourite driver at all, but starting 17th and winning whilst Lando starts on pole and finished sixth sums it up really. Lousy luck for McLaren with red flags/safety cars but the driver's championship for Lando has gone now.

I fail to understand why cars can get a free tyre change during a red flag. Somewhat makes a mockery of the racing that has gone before. Title race now over for 2024.

Fair play to Verstappen and Red Bull for running the perfect mixed conditions race. McLaren threw that one away. Sadly without a DNF for Max, I think that's this year's championship all done. 2025 should be tasty though!

It really should be! The second half of the 2021 season was very exciting apart obvs. from the dreadful decision-making about the safety car rules at the end of the final Abu Dhabi race. The Verstappen years since then pretty dull.

Lewis in a competitive Ferrari fighting Mercedes, the Red Bulls and McLarens will be brilliant entertainment.

Like many I find MV quite hard to like. But races such as today's prove what an undeniably talented driver he is. It's a shame some of the other stuff that he feels the need to do tarnishes his likeability and reputation somewhat (though of course other greats like Senna, Schumacher etc. were no different...)

I don't mind the same driver winning the championship so long as it's interesting and this season has been a breath of fresh air after 2022 and 2023. McLaren and Norris just haven't hit as close to the 100% decision-making and race-craft as has been needed.

The one thing I don't understand from this race though is that the Sky commentators went from saying "this is close to being a red flag race" to "these conditions are definitely for inters and not full wets" within the space of about 3 minutes. It seems that any conditions that are wet enough for full wet tires are judged to dangerous to race in...?

I agree - bring on 2025!
