After all kinds of shenanigans it looks like Max has been given the Tag of World Champion.

Only kidding.

Re: F1 2021 Motorsport Thread
I’m thrilled that you’re ‘happy,’ I’ll suggest that ‘Max’ didn’t ‘stuff’ anyone yesterday, he was completely outraced by Hamilton from the start, the race director’s discretion was what saw Verstappen get the title. As regards to football, I’m of the school of ‘support the local team,’ tourist fans seldom have the same passion or investment that locals have. You may live in Essex but may be from the East End which makes your West Ham affiliations all good in my book. But what do I know? It’s just an opinion.

Re: F1 2021 Motorsport Thread
Well not really. If he had stood by the original decision to not let the overtaken racers unlap, Lewis would probably have won, and nobody would have complained. If he had let them unlap immediately, Max would have won, it would have been very hard luck for Lewis, but nobody would have complained. By changing his decision at a late stage to favour Max, (apparently under pressure from Red Bull) he has brought the sport into disrepute, and clearly he ought to lose his job.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 12:43 pm ^^^^ Mercedes lodged an 'Intention to Appeal' last night.
They have 72 hours (I think) to follow through and submit it.
It all needs to be done and dusted by Thursday when the annual FIA end of season Dinner and Prize giving is held in Paris.
FWIW I can understand that they, Mercedes, are miffed at the outcome and the Race Director, Michael Massi, was in a dammed either way situation but I hope they withdraw and accept the outcome as it is.

Hamilton got away with a shocking race official decision on lap 1 and the guy who made it is a disgrace to his profession.
Luckily opinions are like ……… everyone has one

Do we think Mercedes will take the challenge further or is this done with now? What do we think?

Mind you, isn’t it nice to see a driver wear something other than a Richard Mille. I think he should of been wearing a Concept.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 2:23 pm ^^^^ Looking at the grimace on his face he must be thinking "do I really have to wear this (TAG)?".

Has the deed been done, or announced yet? Or are we taking it as a “racing” cert?

He was awarded his Knighthood in this year's New Year's Honours list and his investiture is due to take place on Wednesday this week.

Bad luck getting the SC but Lewis did mess up the first bend after the SC and Max pounced.

Good for him. Remarkable career. Will he still be hungry for it?

Re: F1 2021 Motorsport Thread
If the race director wanted a race it should have been red flagged with a straight fit to the flag, both we fresh tyres best man wins. Instead we got a farce that sets a dangerous precedent for the future, with races decided at the wim of the race director.
