Anyone know whether Grosjean normally wears his Richard Mille when racing? I'm pretty sure Felipe Massa did when he was in F1.
If he does, did it withstand a 50g impact and did it melt?

Looks like he wasn't wearing it.

Yep, and another thing if somebody tots up the amount of damage he's accrued in his F1 racing career, it would probably be close to some countries GDP.

Glad for him and his family that he's ok, but still think he should hang up his helmet for everyones benefit.

Most of the drivers just seem to be handed the sponsor watch to adorn for the media photos/interviews at the end of the race, at least for the guys on the podium. I guess that hasn't applied much to Grosjean. Not the best driver but obviously fantastic that he walked away relatively unscathed from that fireball.

I see that George Russell has played a bit of a blinder in the practice sessions.
Qualy and the Race is another matter!

Turns out he was wearing the red RM, it was spotted as he sat against the medical car trackside and as he was helped over the barrier.. he has received some criticism from safety officials for it as it (could) of snagged something as he tried to escape and has (probably) not been tested for its reaction to extreme heat/fire thus posing an additional risk. I could only find this pic..

Great F2 race, congrats to Mick Schumacher! He certainly tried his best to throw it away... too much for Illot to do today.
