@nbg

I’m off to Greece in a few days. Don’t think I’ll be looking for a TV screen somehow! :-k

@Amor Vincit Omnia
Until a few minutes ago I was beginning to think my post had put a hex on England’s performance. :lol:

I thought Slovakia might rue missing that chance from the half way line.

@nbg

I won’t need to look for a screen. The hotel bar is a sports bar that fronts onto the street, and big Dimitri has a very large screen (and Metaxa 12*).

We were lucky! :shock:

Slovakia were robbed of a well earned victory.

It was a great equaliser though.

I thought there was too much negativity in the England game. Slovakia tried to win 1-0, and gave England too much possession..After England took the lead they sat back instead of trying to get more goals and nearly let Slovakia back in.

Who will be home first: FC Engerland or the last plucky Brit to exit the singles at Wombledog?

Football is on Saturday so it could be close.

QF line up complete.

Shame in a way that the two (probably) best teams have to play each other.

Thoroughly enjoyed last night’s game and well done to Türkiye for preventing a West/Central Europe lockout.

I saw the Banks save in 1970, but TV angles were not as good then. That one last night was pretty special!

Looks like I’ll miss England on Saturday, it’s 7pm Greek time and we’ll be out at a restaurant.

Chap at the end of our road always decorates his front garden when England are in the Euros or World Cup. This year it’s got a local connection.

This was a slow match at times, with England coming out as eventual winners in the tick-tock of the penalty shootout.

In the first 90, England pressed well but Tri(dent) as they might, they created few chances.

The Swiss movement on and off the ball was very good, however the English designed their formation to suppress the Swiss attack well.

In Extra Time, I thought the Swiss would be crowned winners but Dune-know what? This is one resilient English side. Helped by the fans who were their Twelve man.

You have to hand it to the English penalty takers, they regulated their prep and didn’t rush their shots, and the resulting shots were very accurate.

Next for England - a date with the Dutch. Will they win their first trophy in my lifetime? We’ll only have to wait a week to Sea(lander)

Sorry

I have an issue, I’ve only watched England in the quarter finals and semi finals, on both occasions I got home shortly before kick. Popped a nice fresh pizza in the oven and made a salad. Now I’m not superstitious, I don’t believe in lucky numbers, lucky socks etc. I feel I should really have another pizza tomorrow, not sure I fancy another pizza 😱
What should I do???😂

Don't have a Spanish Pizza. Stick to English Pizza. Ham and Pineapple. :D
