Dang taxes!
Well, the good thing is that all of my SEO work on my websites paid off with an increase in business. The down side is I underestimated my freaking taxes!
SO, it is with a great deal of regret that I will be selling most of my collection over the next few weeks. If I have purchased a watch from you, please do not be offended if you see it in the Sales Corner. I have no idea why I feel some form of guilt over this, but I do.
Deep sigh . . .

Re: Dang taxes!
That is one thing I do not miss from my working days well there are a few -
Tax at 40%
Paying into a Company Pension. (Well I am glad I did and grateful mine was final salary linked).
National Insurance
Buying four suits and umpteen shirts and ties each year.
Paying tax on a company car, although cheaper than buying my own I guess!
As for selling your watches I am sure nobody will mind unless you try to make a huge profit over what you paid for them!

Ah yes taxes... Will see how much I have to pay back this year. My guess is roughly £500 due to some mistakes by my employer. But at least I'm not a student anymore

Thanks Scooter:
apologies all now removed - this one pressed my buttons and I momentarily forgot the rulesscooter wrote:With due respect Paul, Forum Rule #2 precludes political discussion.

You might get away with it in Curmudgeon Corner.

What bugs you? This topic is not to create a political discussion nor to create controversy or to discuss at all the reasons for attitudes etc.
It is just a place to make a statement of why... about the little curiosities of life... not to answer them.

Re: Dang taxes!
No worries Paul and certainly no apology needed.
I just thought that I would mention it before everyone piled in with their views.

Re: Dang taxes!
It's quite likely that HMRC will change next year's PAYE code to correct this type of mistake - so you'd pay back about £10 a week - I guess it's better than having to pay it all in one lump.dopefish wrote:Ah yes taxes... Wow, I am doubly impressed:
1. 40 years is really going some - I managed 18 years with one of Her Majesty's outfits before making a bid for freedom.
2. That it says Presented to 'Scooter' ! Did you really manage to get it like that or is that a bit of judicious editing on your part?
Either way, fair play to you
