Good to hear that you are pulling through, Lindsey. Been thinking about you – stay strong, my dear!

Funny you mention the telephone aversion – I’ve had it for about three years and just starting to come out of it. For me it all started during my mother’s final illness and in the weeks after she died. I would come home from work physically and emotionally quite drained and probably have to spend an hour or perhaps even two on the phone to different people for updates and so on. All necessary of course, and talking to friends and relatives was a comfort in a way I suppose. I’ve recently started calling people just for a chat again.

Apparently people with bipolar brains can have problems with phone calls because of slight problems with how quickly they can process information. Take away visual or body language cues and that can result in problems. In your case AVO, in different circumstances obviously, I can imagine that difficult or detailed phone calls about an emotive subject could have stacked up problems in a similar way. I find it easier if I can picture where the other person is, so mobile phones have actually made it harder to make calls to friends. Mostly it makes me so disoriented I actually stop being able to hear the other person altogether.....

I find it quite interesting... but don’t let me distract you from talking about lockdown and watches!! :D
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

So now it BITES. My mum is in a New Zealand nursing home. Many years ago she re-married to a lovely Kiwi chap who has since passed from cancer.
And now she's in hospital after a nasty "turn" and the prognosis isn't great. Days. Spoken just now with my step-sister who has just been to the hospital and frankly, it's ugly. I can't be with her now or for what seems inevitable to follow.
Yep, this thing BITES in so many ways.

I'm sorry to have I guess partially hijacked this thread but she's gone now and at least it was peaceful. Grand old lady, she will be dearly missed. I just won't be able to say goodbye and that's one of the "other tragedies" of this thing.
