Well, after a 300 mile motorway trip, she’s still quoting 14000 miles for the next fettling?

Re: Condition based servicing.
I’ve solved the conundrum! I kept looking at this picture and there was just something about it that didn’t seem right and I couldn’t put my finger on it. Then I saw it. It was the date. Why would my next service be in ten months? This wasn’t right. I’ve had an epiphany. Having witnessed the countdown to my recent ‘service’, I just assumed that the info I’ve pictured, was counting down to my next ‘service’, whereas, it’s actually counting down to the next ‘event’. In this case, it’s a rear brake pad change. The more detailed info about each ‘service event’ can be gleaned by interrogating the control panel. The actual ‘service’ is, as described by BMW, due in 19000m. I blame my age.

Remember the good old days when you serviced a car when it needed it!
