I knew someone would get technical :D

Carbon Steel
Grade 1000
Diameter 1/8"

Alasdair
That rules out selling to shooters as a lead free shot. I think carbon steel will be too hard on the barrels.

Package it with some magnets as a toy!

In packs of 10.

You will make a fortune.
Quick look shows plenty on there. Quick sample... 72 for 99p, 100 for £1.99 or 1,000 for a fiver. Even in 1000's you've got four and half grand's worth but is it worth the effort :problem: .

I shoot - but wouldn't put steel in the gun - kills the barrels - I use tungsten if shooting where lead is banned...
magnet & toy - is a good idea...

mmm - could be as long as it doesn't take long to package them - even if a couple of days work would make it worth while!

Are you able to design the rest of it :)?

I would find a picture/painting/pattern that I like, get a blown up copy of it, then get a big piece of firm card or thin board, some decent glue, trace the picture onto the card, and glue the ballbearings onto the card in the shape of the pattern.

Just to be a bit different, but could make quite an interesting piece of artwork :D

If that's the Dr's advice you have to try it. Perhaps you could send out some to other members and we could have a "race"

thanks both :D
I might avoid magnetising them first though - apparently teenagers have been using the 'rare earth' ones either side of their tongues to pretend that they have tongue studs - and then swallowing them - the strength means that they are then doing funny things in their guts! ugh!

swallowing one magnet is fine. multiples on the other hand is bad as they get on other sides of the folds etc in your gut and stick together, this can then cause perforation as time goes on.

Send them to Chris to melt down for the 2014 FLE cases.

As for the eBay idea, offer your Godson a 5% commission (in stock) to count and bag the bearings. He can sell his share to all his friends for their pea shooters.
