Sounds like a perfectly lovely morning!Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:Nearly correct.cincfleet wrote:Guy I must say how evocative your description of correcting the time on your 17th century Long case is, will you be settling down to tea and toast and a read of the Sunday press whilst the hour passes? I should imagine that the house will sound completely different for that hour too?Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:Just adjusted my downstairs clocks back one hour, except for my 17th century Long Case clock which I will stop for one hour in the morning along with giving it its weekly wind.
Upstairs clocks will be done shortly and watches as and when I wear them.

Clock stopped @ 09:10 - displayed; 08:10 GMT.
Sat in my 'dining room' for breakfast, clock adjacent to the table, with Tea & toast/ryvita, marmalade and marmite. An eerie silence pervading i.e. no. tick / tock / light squeak (needs a drop of oil somewhere in the movement).
Except the radio in the kitchen was on, 5Live, and the washing machine in the utility room was on 'spin', so I probably wouldn't have been able to hear the clock anyway. No Sunday paper; just my smartphone to catch up on Forum and F1 news.
Clock wound and restart an hour later 09:10 GMT. Normality restored.

But a utility room and marmalade... Guy, how extravagant!
