So does this thread make us all super nerds or overgrown kids? Or both maybe! Hahaha!

Here’s my DB5. Please forgive the dust. The level of detail is impressive, with rotating number plates, machine guns, working ejector seat, and a bullet proof shield.

Working on mine. I had to back up a bit with the headlamps / machine guns. Fun set. I wish I grabbed a Kwik-E Mart when they were available.

I’ve still got ALL my Legos from when I was a kid with almost all the directions. I’ve got one huge container with 50 years worth of Legos in it, going back to the early 70s. I saved them for my kids, who only had a passing interest. I can’t bring myself to part with them. Legos were a huge part of my childhood. There are a lot of very dear memories in that container!

It’s a challenging build, that’s for sure. It took a long time to build. Be sure to post pics when it’s done.

My family were kind enough to get me this beauty as a Christmas present a few years back.

Attention to detail is fantastic, particularly with the engine bay. I also have the Saturn V but the sheer size of the thing means it's currently kept displayed in the corner!

Lockdown started me off with a few simple ones.

As lockdown progressed and lengthened, together with some Black Friday deals, the builds got bigger, then bigger still  .

I love that land speeder! I had loads of Star Wars sets back in the late 90s/early 2000s when I was a student, and got myself a re-issue of the snow speeder set not too long ago (had a fun build day with my eldest son - he wanted a Minecraft Lego set, but it had to be Star Wars for me!)

That was my daughters attempt to get me into Lego Star Wars which she has been building for 15+ years. She has buckets full of the stuff including the absolutely mahoosive Death Star and Millenium Falcon.

The big stuff is really quite amazing (but "yes", expensive). The technical design of some pieces intrigues me as much as my watches and you start to appreciate basic elements of mechanics as you put them together. The Liebherr excavator is 4000+ pieces, over 6kg in weight, at least 6 (if not 8 ) motors, and fully functional. Part of the fun is completing something that then works - well, once you've spent a day unbuilding half of it to remove/replace the wrong motor that you put in first time round.

Or "never grown kids".... significant parts of me have never left their teens .

I've got this set ready and waiting to build, but not as it is intended....

That's opened a whole new can of worms Jon. I, perhaps naively, didn't realise there were so many alternative builds available. Rather than buy any more, there may be rebuild coming along shortly.

Never had Lego as a child, seeing some of these sets I think I need therapy (well, I probably do anyway, but now I know why)!
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left
