Re: Bremont watches
Hi Scooter.
I bought a nearly new Jaguar XF. Very nice car, spacious, quiet, comfortable but a bit like driving a computer. Loads of buttons, I haven't a clue what they do and I stopped experimenting by pressing them when I got the message, 'emergency, Thames Valley Police, can I help you?' I had to confess I was tucked up in my garage!
Hope you are well, best wishes,
Robin

Robin
I think you made an excellent choice with XF, a beautiful car.
This morning I went to Bristol to part exchange my current Honda Forza scooter with a Honda Monkey bike which should by all accounts be a real hoot.

Re: Bremont watches
Great choice Scooter have been thinking about trading my Yamaha xsr700 for a monkey (much nicer than a grom) but might well swing to the cb300r. The 300s are a great balance of low weight but decent power. Decided the bigger the engine the less the fun, its something that has always stuck with me since my 125 days, every time i bought a bigger engine, the rides just werent as hilarious or memorable, im not going to ignore those pangs anymore.scooter wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2019 3:52 pm Robin

As you know I have never taken The Test so my previous 3 bikes have been new 125s and each has given me a lot of pleasure.
I have ridden the following number of miles since 2008 and enjoyed all 3 bikes:
Vespa GTV 125 - 12000.
Vespa GTS Super Sport 125 - 9800.
Honda Forza 125 - 7300
The Honda Forza weighs in at 162kgs and I'm struggling, with my bad back, to manoeuvre it off bike. The Monkey is smaller all round and weighs in at 107kgs.
The only geared scooter I have ridden was back in 1970. That was a Lambretta and obviously the clutch was on the handlebar. I will need to practice on The Monkey first.
Having never ridden anything over 125cc I can only imagine what the power on bigger bikes is like. Knowing me, I would have killed myself anyway so best that I am limited to 125s.
I've sorted the insurance at £100 with only 7 UK companies on GoCompare prepared to insure a Monkey.
I can't wait.

^^^ Excellent choice, Scooter.
Would you like me to change your user name? I’m afraid “monkey” is already taken...

Re: Bremont watches
I am glad Honda have up sized the Monkey bike.
I had horrible images of scooter buzzing around the Wiltshire countryside crouched over the handlebars of one of these.

Can't win.....in my first week as a Newbie I went off track and got severely put down. Been here now for a while now and get put down for making a comment to bring the topic back to the title.
Re: Those Were The Days
scooter do you expect the Monkey Bike to end up with more use than your “battery boost”# bike?

Don't take it personally.
Robin and I have often exchanged pleasantries like this. I wouldn't have done it on a different thread.
As far as Newbies are concerned, it's a 'rites of passage' kinda thing.
We all went through it.
