Each and every one of those is epic. I remember commending you on your photography skills in the past. The steam train is so atmospheric, I can almost smell the smoke. The flying stone chips add great movement energy. The Anthony Gormley sculptures are cool too. Something of an Easter Island feel.

Not an expensive watch, not even mechanical. I love the way black and white picks up the detailing of the twin crowns and concentric circles of the dial. It really draws the texture out of the watch.

I’m really enjoying this thread - please keep adding to it. One thing I think personally is that it’s easy to be captivated by colour on a watch dial and not really pay attention to other lovely details. I love Des’s pic of his Elliot Brown because I don’t get captured by colour and can just enjoy the case structure and dial details. Texture as Des says. I think these are the things I like best in watches - the architecture.

Some cracking pics

Here is my bronze BB58, the patination leads to some interesting tones/textures when captured in black and white

22mm nato on 21mm lugs works fine, at least better than the gap, when using 20mm straps.

I’ve often looked at buying a Mondaine over the years but never committed :problem: not a fan of quartz and never been pushed to pay the price of an auto, might have another look after your pic

They're not the most exciting watches, but there's something I just love about their simple design - this is the only non-digital quartz in my regular rotation and I think the once per second tick of the quartz suits it somehow.

That’s the problem I have with quartz watches, I like to think I’m not a watch snob but when I look at a quartz second hand tick, I know it’s only a second, but my brain registers it as not working :problem: it’s just a problem I can’t get past
Yes I am aware of quartz watches with a sweeping second hand but why bother when you can have an auto :escape:

Each to their own, but I find quartz quite a marvel in its own right. An electrical current from a battery that passes through a quartz crystal causing it to oscillate 32,768 per second, every second, to register a second. Then there's something charming about the seconds hand striking its mark sixty times per minute, repeated sixty times per hour, 24hrs a day, often accurate to a few seconds a month. Yep, I have no probs with quartz. Whatever makes you tick...or sweep I guess.
