Re: Balanced dial..........
so long as, by 'balanced', you don't mean 'symmetrical', this is a beautifully balanced dial
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Re: Balanced dial..........
Symmetry is so conventional.
Any designer can stick a logo at 12 and make the rest of the features balanced.
Where's the skill in that?
Putting the logo on one side, that's much more creative.
Not many brands are bold enough to do it, which is what makes CW stand out.

About as balanced as you can get:
Even though it's not as balanced with the date at 6, I prefer the Speedbird III dial:

Re: Balanced dial..........
The stark but sensual symmetry of a simple Reverso is hard to beat in my book. Actually symmetry is perhaps the most important factor about a well designed dial. Except when it’s not, when non-symmetry is a or the point.

Re: Balanced dial..........
Think the railmaster and AT are both more balanced without the chronograph.
For me, simple, classic Rolex Explorer is about as balanced as you can get.

Re: Balanced dial..........
Here is one of my balanced dials. It seems a lot purists prefer the no date sub for that reason, the balance and symmetry of the dial vs the date/cyclops version.

It really seems to depend on the retailer, and how much they like you. A friend was able to pick up a BLNR locally, with wait of only a few months, and at a 5% discount. He has bought a number of moderately priced watches from this retailer, and I think only one other Rolex, a Explorer II.Richard D wrote:^Goldsmiths are reporting a 2 year waiting list for a Rolex No Date Submariner, really?
