The last watch I bought was my Speedy on 12 October 2018. I've worn it every day since and the only other watch I've worn in that time has been my Samsung fitness watch at the gym.

The Speedy seems to have made any other watch redundant even the 38mm C60 Trident 600 black/black which was previously my go to watch. As the Bader strap on that was splitting (after 4 years !) I bought a CW bracelet for it in February this year but that still has the protective film on it as I've not worn it.

I've has some serious discussions about buying an old logo Trident GMT, also tried on Longines blue dials and the smaller size Oris Aquis and the outgoing (outgone?) and new version of the Omega Seamaster Diver and been tempted to buy the Oris Clean Ocean when I saw 1 in the local Beaverbrooks. As I can't imagine putting the Speedy into a drawer and not wearing it all were quickly dismissed as wastes of money but the Trident GMT still sits in my mind as I would like a GMT and at sometime a decent blue dial watch.

I made it from February 2016 (Planet Ocean GMT) to August 2019 (PAM 512)....3.5 years !! Simply got my watch collection dialled into a few watches that I really enjoyed immensely. Sold one off upon the appearance of the August 2019 arrival.
Small collection of timepieces that I enjoy

Apart from buying a C60 as a gift, last purchase beginning of September 2018
Can’t see myself buying anything in the foreseeable future, keep looking at a 14060 sub but the asking prices now are getting ridiculous, do like the C65 diver but just haven’t gone for it

April 2018 was my last purchase and it was this from sales corner (thank you Gary) :

Combined with the my MK2 re-issue and a few daily wearers, they satisfy all my watch needs / wants and I haven't had the desire to purchase anything further, but I have sold two, with more to go.

I feel that I have completed my watch buying journey......unless I ever get the phone call from the AD whose list I am on for an LV!

Cheers,

Paul

I have had four purchases in the last 12 months, all CW (C900 WT, C8 WTC, A C60 and my Apex).

To balance this I've moved on four other watches, although net spend is still in the red!

I think I have turned a corner in terms of the direction my collection has gone in this year with a focus more on quality over quantity.

I'm also less worried about having a balanced collection - the only watches that are really inspiring me at the moment are divers so if I can move a couple out I'd quite like to start saving towards a Pelagos or SMP 300.

Glad to have been of help Paul :)
You had admittedly hinted rather broadly about it beforehand as well... ;)

Well, subtlety has never been my forte, but I never thought that you would actually part with it!

When it appeared in SC I barely needed to think once, let alone twice and, despite the fact that we were about to move house and couldn't really afford it, I am so pleased that I took the plunge.

To have, what is effectively,a brand new 50 year old model is a one off opportunity and it's great having an original and the re-issue side by side - they are very different to wear.

Neither will be going anywhere in my lifetime!

Cheers,

Paul
