Yep, that's right. It was 1979 remember.

I was driving the MG Midget and they banned me for that. I might have got away with it if it was yellow but it was a blue one, so realistically I had no chance at all.

Another long(ish) list I'm afraid starting in 1974, aged 18, and cheating slightly as I'll include my wives's cars (which I've paid for); mostly in chronological order but E&OE.

I could work out exactly when and for how long I had each car, might even be able to remember most/all of the registration numbers, but can't be bothered.

All cars have (fortunately) been new or only a few years old on acquisition and most owned for around two years (ish). M/cycles were owned in addition to cars.

Here goes;-

Morris Marina 1.3 - drum brakes all round and copious understeer; fun!
Ford Escort 1.3 Pop Plus - bought new, kept only for a few months, sold to buy ....
Triumph TR6 Mk II - SAH tuned back to Mk I performance - went 'bang' in a fairly major way, had to borrow funds from Mother to repair it, on condition I sold it
Vauxhall Chevette 1.3 - sold to younger brother who overheated/seized the engine on M25.
Vauxhall Cavalier 1.9 - 100+ Octavo alloys Reg; PGM 51R
Yamaha DT 175 - sold to buy engagement ring
FIAT 127 (wife's)
FIAT X19
Lancia Beta HPE 1600
FIAT 127 GT (wife's)
Suzuki GS650 Katana - on getting divorced (kept the Beta HPE)!
Vauhall Nova 1.2 Swing
Vaxhall Nova 1.3SR
VW Golf 1.3 Formel E - the original stop/start eco car (perhaps) - 1st Company Car
VW Golf 1.3C
Vauxhall Astra 1.6GL
Vauxhall Astra 1.3 - Wife no 2's car; now married 27 years
Mazda 323F (wife's)
VW Golf 1.8GL
VW Golf 1.6 Driver (wife's) - nearly caused a divorce, it kept breaking down (very un-Golf like); but thankfully not.
Mitsubishi Colt (wife's)
BMW 318i Auto
Mitsubishi Colt , 2nd (wife's)
Ford Mondeo Estate GLX 2.0 Auto
Opel Omega 2.5TD Auto Estate - chipped by VanAaken
Ford Escort Estate 1.8TD Ghia X - chipped by Van Aaken (wife's)
Skoda Fabia 1.4 - became my son's car.
FIAT Doblo 1.9JTD (wife's) - she loved it and was great for Karting; Kart et al just went straight in the back. Handling / performance was pretty tidy for a van.
Skoda Octavia vRS TDI - chipped and suspension mods
Skoda Roomster Scout 1.6Tip Auto (wife's)
Audi A5 Quattro S-Line 2.0L TDI - left me cold; car has no charisma - last Company Car
....................
....... and currently...
Skoda Yeti Elegance CR140 4x4 DSG - again chipped with secret stuff plus other mods; great Q-car - loving it 8) :D

Old enough.

Some. Not that bothered as long as it gets me from A to B.

Austin Maxi (Mum's hand me down after i passed my test - built biceps like Popeye's driving this brick/tank hybrid)
Mk1 Escort (cheap and even a mechanical moron ie me,could maintain it. Only got rid of it when it finally broke for good)
Mk2 Escort (much the same as the MK1,only got rid of it when the bonnet unattached itself from the car at 70mph in the driving rain overtaking a lorry on the M5 in the middle of the night between Swindon & Bristol. It was an experience!)
Peugeot 405 something or other (sold it when the crappy French brakes finally did my head in)
Peugeot 405 Sri (still crappy French brakes and stuff, sunroof wedged closed with a plastic bottle cap, finally sold it when i got fed of things breaking/dropping off/welding themselves shut)
Audi A4 something or other (liked it...sold it becasue needed bigger car when we had kids. And i got fed of people trying to nick it. Scrotes attempted to steal this a grand total of 5 times...yes,5. Three of them whilst parked outside my house. I got fed up of replacing windows and such...)
Octavia Vrs Estate. (Really liked this car. Got rid of it because the lease ran out)
Presently Skoda Superb. (Boring. But it's cavernous, comfortable, highly economic to run and i got a ridiculous deal on the lease so it was hard to say no.And i only live three miles from work so i don't drive around much but need something to do long distance family driving as my parents live in the middle of France)
If you can read this you are too close to your computer screen....

1997 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T (company car)
2001 BMW 330d (company car)... what an introduction to the sludge burners
2005 Vauxhall Astra estate (company car)... tactical company car choice :kotz: but... to enable the purchase of ;
1999 TVR Chimaera 400... lasted 15 months before I mated it with a dry stone wall :(
1997 TVR Chimaera 500... decided a 5 litre would be better at avoiding walls than a 4 litre... 5 years later it's working well \:D/

The Tiger was so unreliable it wasn't funny, and we were moving house at the time.
The BMW Z1 had to go when I had to sell some toys to pay for the roof over our heads. It was chassis number 317 - now in Ireland.
There's always time for one more.

Oh, I'll have a go, but I might forget one. 40 years old.

Kawasaki AR50
Suzuki RG125
Yamaha RD350 - A proper non-powervalve one, quite desirable these days. Inevitably it blew up. Fixed it and sold it before it happened again.
Talbot Sunbeam
Renault 21TS - stupidly cheap insurance as it was an old blokes car, went well and had the comfiest seats I've ever sat in
Ford Sierra Sapphire
VW Mk2 Scirocco GTX - stupidly modified, last seen annoying M5 owners around Silverstone shortly before the new owner stripped it.
Honda Civic - given to me for nothing. 2 years trouble free motoring and sold it for £900. Result.
Mitsubishi Legnum VR4
Honda Civic Type S
Seat Toledo TDI 130
Seat Ibiza FR

I had noted your cars from a certain z3 forum ;) and was reminded of you in France on Saturday, seeing a Z1 on a trailer being taken down South... I still have the Z3, but could be tempted by a Z1 if I had room on the drive!
