I really have enjoyed your watch journey so far and right now, it seems as if you have found what you're looking for. Well, there might have been one or two watches that had to be sold, but I truly believe that all the German, Swiss, Japanese etc. watches were necessary to get the ones you have got now. Of course, I am looking forward to seeing future evolutions (I guess the fittest watch that is likely to survive is the Rolex) of your collection. The watches we go for are very, very different kind of watches (Oh God, the Tuna...), but I value your thoughts.
You are, indeed, a very important member of the forum. Without you there wouldn't be that many watches to dream about. I am looking forward to reading the next 5000 posts.
Thanks very much Serlo. I agree with what you wrote. I do miss having a German watch now. The Germans I had were not good from a resale/flipper point of view, but they were the ones I enjoyed the most. And maybe subconsciously they made me look for vintage inspired styling (Sinn 103, Stowa) leading to the Tudor, Smiths and ultimately the Rolex. I am rooting to get a Sinn chronograph again in the future probably an EZM13 or my old 103 acrylic model, lets see. I am waiting to see what Sinn and Tudor present at Basel.
Also I think I will move more gradually towards the watches you like with the coming years and my change in lifestyle as well as maturity in taste. Its just that until now, I haven't really needed any remotely dressy watches and that is a style which is very popular in higher end watches where the focus is on the movement and the dial (not so much on specs and case design), also they are typically more reserved, and the type you like.
