I like watching the trap and skeet. Not really my game (I like sporting clays better) but they are still fun to watch as they are really good shooters.
Life is not a matter of holding good cards, but sometimes, playing a poor hand well. Jack London
It could be worse, we could still have architecture, painting, and literature in the Olympics. (I’m not making those up by the way)
I know, along with sculpture.
And how about the doubtless heady excitement of ... Town Planning. An Olympic event 1928 -1948. I believe that Britain won in 1948 (London). Looking at some of the post-war town planning in Britain, the mind boggles as to what the runners up must have been like.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left
I’ve just been listening to Nicky Campbell on five live and his show is talking to people involved in sport and what the Olympics means to them.
Badminton player Gail Emms has told the story of how Andy Murray arrived at the athletes village like it was just another event for him and didn’t fully appreciate that for athletes from less main stream sports this was their life’s work. Apparently she gave him a good talking to about what the Olympics should mean to him and made it clear it’s not just another event in his calendar.

You would have thought Andy would have known that by now, after previous Olympics. Sound a bit tall poppies doesn't it. I think Nadal was coming over a bit precious as well.
Did I hear right? Did they say the GB food hall is feeding other countries athletes? Why would we do that. They should have a red white and blue wrist strap for free food.
The raw meat was probably fillet steak tartare, and maybe andouillete sausages. (Full of actual tripe/chitterlings). The UK won't eat liver and kidneys, never mind tripe. You can eat stuff like that when it's made into Haggis and Fag-gots (in case the rude word checker dislikes the actual word. Use your brains. )

I imagine that Murray does know that by now…
I doubt he bumped into Gail Emms in the 2024 athletes village. She retired after the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Murray’s first Olympics.
^^^^ No it was stories from past olympics. She might have mentioned the year but I didn’t pick up on it but it was definitely Andy’s first time there going off the story.

Right.
Josh Tarling to get a medal in the time trial this afternoon, hopefully Gold.
He's actually favourite on Betfair, but I think that might be a bit UK centric. The betting is Tarling, Ganna and Evenepoel top 3, and roughly 40/1 bar those 3.
