Good luck with the new venture.
An interesting read... it surprised me that the US was only the second biggest market - I would have assumed even relatively small percentage sales there would mean greater unit sales than here.

Kip,

I'm curious as to how the opening of the show room will affect prices im the US?

Will watches be hot with customs fees more often now? I know NH currently had no sales tax but do toy see any potential implications in the future with CW having to start collecting sales tax on watches sold on the US?

If you look at the map of second hand sales - indicative, though not 100% accurate (you need sales of new to be able to sell second hand): http://www.watchroll.com/map.php there is a vast difference between the UK and USA...

it will no doubt be a reflection of:
- the UK being the first market (USA in catch up)
- there being an incentive in the UK to buy from a UK brand - and there are few alternatives in the price band
- more UK-centric advertising (offline e.g. magazines)
- UK showroom

I would expect in 5 years to see a totally different pattern if CWL are serious about moving into the USA

The next time I am in Boston, I am going to make an appointment to visit. Congratulations and best of luck with the new venture.

Holy heck! 402 Amherst Street? The showroom is only 5 minutes from my office! This is terrible news for my bank account... :)

Delighted that the US showroom is open and making sales. It is certainly in safe hands with Kip!
