dang. I've been ill and missed it and really really was looking forward to hearing about the women's line coming out this fall and also looking forward thanking Chris for being so receptive about it. Please post the transcript soon! Thanks to all who organized it.

There was a LOT of information concerning new women's watches. If I'm honest, I was not paying sufficient attention to be able to tell you much. I do remember there were loads of different design directions, but I think they were all quartz (but I could be wrong).

Seems we'll get the low down on the more secret stuff like the Ladies' collection and C700 in June or July, with the public announcements in August.

I'm sadly disappointed:
1. The ladies' collection will be quartz
2. The C700 is closer to a C70 than a C7 from the description Chris gave.

Oh well, I can save my money for a jump hour!

Also, can someone please explain the following statement from Chris?
Christopher Ward - Wed May 04, 2011 5:55 pmIP: 81.138.77.210
"Returns and exchanges from customers are largely well packaged and cared for when they come back and as result the vast majority go straight back to stock after a small bit of tlc."

Does this mean that returns which are "as new" are just sold again as a new watch?

No, he's not in hot water, but I won't be asking for one of his watches for my birthday. I'll be getting that Longines which was certainly a second choice before this news.

don't care about the ladies' collection as my 'lady' doesn't wear a watch
hurrah, the C70 is way nicer than the C7 (IMO of course )

hopefully it means they go straight back as NN stock :?

thankfully I really don't like the jump hour so I can pick up a few watches for the outlay that one would take up (well unless the C700 is as pricey...)

Yup, I'm disappointed about the ladies' watches being quartz. My only hope now is that the sports collection he mentioned includes a 36-37mm version of the Trident, which would probably be classified as unisex rather than ladies.

I'm also a bit alarmed at the statement about returned watches being sold as new again. It seems weird to distinguish between these returned watches and those sent out for promotional purposes and returned subsequently. I mean, if the only difference is why they were returned, then it appears an artificial difference to say this group goes back to stock while the other becomes NN. You might as well just look at the condition upon return in classifying them as stock or NN.

Perhaps someone reading this might be able to give the definitive answer to an interesting comment affecting many of us?

Except that in the UK, under the Trade Descriptions Act, it is illegal to sell a returned item as new. Hence my confusion.

Could you point me in the direction of the specific part of the TDA that covers this?

I think it would be covered under...
2 Trade description.
(1)A trade description is an indication, direct or indirect, and by whatever means given, of any of the following matters with respect to any goods or parts of goods, that is to say—
...
(j)other history, including previous ownership or use.
...and this, as an example, is what happens when second hand goods are sold as "ex-display"...

don't know the finer legal points, but, morally no company should be selling anything as 'new' which is returned goods and if I had paid the full as new price I would be mightily ****!
The wording used in the chat however is not absolutely clear and so I still hope that CWL is using these returned good as NN stock...
