Forum down for Maintenance - Phase 2

Post by Kip »

Forum down for Maintenance

As some of you are aware we, and Sammy from CW, have been making preparations for an upgrade to the Christopher Ward forum. We did phase one on August 13.

Phase two is now due to begin.

During this process the forum will be down for maintenance from about noon UK time on Tuesday September 4, until possibly noon UK time on Thursday September 6 (Hopefully much sooner).

During this time, you should be able to view the forum but will not be able to post.

When completed, it is likely you will notice minor, subtle, visual differences - although the core operation will remain the same. This phase is to complete our bespoke work behind the scenes and upgrade overall functionality.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Kip

Thanks you for your patience everyone. We are back live!!

You may notice some minor navigation changes...

The quick link box in the upper left corner

You name in the upper right with a drop down menu for easy access to the User Control Panel and your Profile.

TapaTalk users, please note: Tapatalk is the final element of the upgrade so it may not be totally functional with the forum for awhile yet.

Please, should you notice any issues, please notify me by pm or email.

Nice upgrade, it looks much better and is easier to use on a smartphone. No need to use Tapatalk anymore.

I also noticed a while ago you can now upload images to posts so that will be helpful as well.

I preferred previous look. Plus, when you click on “mark topics read”. There is a screen message stating they have been marked as read, and needs to be closed.

A minor point for sure, but seems unnecessary as I know I have now marked them as read. This will happen a lot for me, so a little irritation.

mChat appears to be broken. Not that I would use it but others may.

You are right - another box pops up, although a single mouse click (anywhere) closes it. It is not necessary to position on the box or anything, so it is literally an extra click.
