I can never get beyond "Global timing partner" in any of these sponsorship deals, it's such a daft phrase. Even as an Evertonian.

Merseyside Derby
Interesting, CW just announcing their supporting Everton football club and Tribus supporting Liverpool FC, how will some football fans show their allegiance

EFC signs deal with CW, but the man himself is a LFC fan.
I appreciate most will be oblivious to this however.
More relevant is the distance between Goodison and Anfield?
53 points.

Re: Christopher Ward becomes Everton's Official Global Timing Partner
Can’t imagine lifelong Liverpool fan Christopher Ward is thrilled with his name being connected to Everton in this way - is this a commercial decision or trolling by the current owners?

Interesting given that the man the company is named after is a well known Liverpool fan.

^^^^
I have no inside knowledge other than CEO of CW, Mike France, is a long time supporter / follower of Everton FC.
In that context this Sponsorship deal makes sense.

Re: Merseyside Derby
What he said. but given that 99.99% of CW's customers will have no idea of the background i suspect it will be a good business move. I remember seeing the costs to Tribus from LFC and it was not small beer. All my comments about the tiny market for a club themed watch will remain hard and true.

Mike France is, of course, a long-standing Everton fan. I imagine that had more sway than what Tribus did.
