Archive Event

Is it an auction then as it doesn't mention that on the 'flyer'?

"CHRISTOPHER WARD EXCLUSIVELY AVAILABLE ONLINE" - except for that one time when we had that sale to clear out all the old watches we couldn't move. And the 2 showrooms. But other than that available exclusively online.

Couldn't they just give kip a list to give to the forum? Don't fancy a two hour drive for potentially nothing.

I also either don't receive emails anymore or they're going in my junk folder. Either way, I don't get them.

Jeez Folks.....no one has even mentioned it would be a great chance to meet up with fellow
forum members.

What ever was on sale would be a bonus to me.

Damn, if I was in the U.K. at the time, I would go for the possible social event.

Would be interesting to know their pricing strategy too. Other than the 10 #1s being auctioned, the rest could be NN price, less, full price - anything! I can't imagine they'll be bargain basement prices though because people rushing round trying to snatch them up is probably not the glamourous evening they have in mind.

Recent DBR1 acquisition in the sale (there must've been at least two available) means I'm staying well away!

Why should they?

Its all part of the fun and excitement that you are going to an exclusive event where you won't know what's on sale.

For me, the idea and opportunity of being able to get a unique item is fantastic. I'd love to go, but I'm not sure that I will be able.

Besides, if the list was published on the forum, I'm sure a non-forum member who attends would likely call 'foul' very quickly.

I believe if you ping an email to mark.bennett@christopherward.co.uk, he will be able to check and ensure you are on CWL's 'mailing list'.

Oh; and its not so difficult to check your junk folder once in a while. Is it?

Just my two pence worth.

It's a pretty 'exclusive event' really, isn't it. Basically, you need to be within fairly easy travelling distance, otherwise, you're excluded. Seems a bit harsh on the dedicated core that belong on this forum (present company excepted 8) )!

I don't see why it would upset non forum members? So they don't know what's there but someone else does, I don't see that as something to get upset about.

Trawling through the 50 odd daily emails which get through the junk filter is time enough. Never mind the 100's in the junk folder.

I like this idea.
OK, I know that liking it is partly due to the fact that I have the time available and I'm within range, but I don't see why it should be an internet event.

I shall be going, it should be a fun evening.

My expectation is that the items on sale will be misfits and oddities, in less than perfect condition, and probably sold on an 'as seen' basis.

The auction of number ones will be interesting, but I very much doubt if I will be buying any of them.

I look forward to meeting any other forum members who will be there, and I'll try to get some pictures.
There's always time for one more.
