Re: A Lasting Legacy - Important News from Christopher Ward
I feel like I'm joining the CW party late, especially now CW himself has left. However, I think the watches look amazing and I've just bought my first watch and I'm looking forward to it arriving.

It's unfortunate that I'm joining the CW group this late. Seems like I've missed a lot but looking forward to what the future holds

Re: A Lasting Legacy - Important News from Christopher Ward
I wish Chris & Wera all the best and for the company/brand to enjoy continued success. I have enough watches but occasionally will purchase another.
I like the accidental/incidental/imagined-by-me symbolism of the brand, it is much better than misplacing my watch and asking where is my MF watch.

Interesting company make up.of the potentially new company (Ward bros.).
According to companies house, Three directors whose surnames are Ward and company secretary called Wera Mettes.
Mmmmmmm
Previous comments suggest it’s possible to sign up for more information on this new company at “ https://ward-bros.com/password”, when I try this link it invites me to enter a password or sign up for a newsletter, obviously I don’t have a password, and when trying to sign up to the newsletter I get redirected to a sign in page, looks like it’s still a work in progress.
Could be interesting times ahead.

This is becoming very interesting. Perhaps a new thread dedicated to https://ward-bros.com/password, particularly as the “important news” is now old news. Just a thought, ready to be shot down!!nwnjw01 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 10:19 am Interesting company make up.of the potentially new company (Ward bros.).

I would definitely be interested in seeing what plans Chris/Wera have in store. I wonder if she’s already shopping for a new sofa.

Would be quite acceptable (and very popular) under the 'other brands' thread I'm sure

Wow, I too am late to the party. I thought i did all my research on specs reviews etc. I didn't discover this until after purchase (item hasn't even arrived yet). Now I'm questioning whether to keep or move to a more established brand that isn't going anywhere. It seems like this brand could be sold or changed entirely or former cofounder could make a new brand. Not sure if this is a disappointment, but it seems to be. I do wonder how other, current owners, are interpreting this change.

It depends what you're buying in to. For some, Chris moving is significant as he was the name and face of the brand (alongside the great Customer Service led by Wera - Chris' wife). That said the watches are still great and they promise some innovation this year. If you like the watch then nothing changesmatt_98125 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 11:27 pm Wow, I too am late to the party. Re: A Lasting Legacy - Important News from Christopher Ward
My view is nothing changes ..... yet.
The watch you have bought is every bit as good as it was before the split.
I have several different CW watches and they are all special in their own way, that’s still as true now as it was when all three Co-founders were at the wheel.
Of course that may change in the future as CW evolves, as the direction from the top will no doubt change its emphasis, and who knows which way that emphasis will go?
The new company will be something I watch with keen interest, it will be very interesting to see how it evolves, what it’s product line is, what it’s customer service is like etc...
It could be great or it could be a damp squib, time will as reveal all...
Meanwhile enjoy your new watch, i am sure you will enjoy it.

It's a brand name on a watch, no different to Maurice...., ....Heuer, or many others. The actual personnel of the company are largely irrelevant if the design, quality, service, value are attractive to you (or buyers in general).
If you like it, wear it and enjoy it. It is a very good watch.

Thanks much, guys. I appreciate it. I went down a huge, very negative internet forum rabbit hole (omega forum) yesterday and your remarks have brought back some balance and rationale.

Just noticed the confirmation letter from yesterday in the Half Price sale, shows only Mike & Peter signature’s.
No Chris, it’s my first purchase since his departure.

Mmmm does the second item about retail sales indicate a possible shop... or is that the kind of thing you would say if your business was online only?
