That would be my understanding scooter... maybe Mr Kirk is just putting some feelers out there, testing the waters ?? Me, last of the later bidders perhaps on a couple of these :).

Thanks for that Alastair.

I didn't think that I had missed the obvious.

I might join you with some late bids if I fancy it.

Obviously they would be at or in excess of the set reserves.

Thanks scooter
was going to ask myself why on earth anyone would bid below the reserve. Thought it was just me being thick (as per usual)
Cheers now, Paul

It looks like the serious players are turning out.

Chameleon has just hit the reserve price of £650 for the C70 GP GB.

as I understand it - correct, though only CWL can confirm that...
but the nature of the reserve should mean that any lower bids don't count - i.e. selling is only live once the reserve is met...
the C70 is now there - others aren't...

but the secret of getting high bids in an auction is seeding bids lower to show activity (show the item is desired), getting lots of people involved / etc. - therefore the early bids can play a role in increasing activity and therefore increasing the final price...

which is of benefit to the charity

I'll take that as a 'Yes' then.

Good to see 5 out of 10 watches off at their reserve price or above now.

C60 Trident
C8 Pilot Blackhawk
C70 GP GB
C5 Malvern Aviator
C7 Rapide

This will help the Charity.

I suspect the charity and CWL would like the auction run fairly and legally, which I'm not entirely sure tactics to increase activity and drive higher prices are.

Point taken chaps; quite right.

Nevertheless, I've just put in a could of bids at prices I am more than comfortable to pay.

I received the email about this today, and it says "The ten #1 Serial Number watches include C3 Malvern Automatic, C7 Rapide Racing Green and the C8 Pilot Blackhawk."
Is there a C3 automatic, I thought it was a quartz chrono ?

@ blowfish

It's a printing error.

There's a C5 Malvern Aviator Mark I which is an automatic along with a quartz C3 Chrono.
