Re: New Ball
I think the rainbow gas tubes are a fun dial option It's nice to see Ball using them on more models.

Re: New watch day!
^^^^^ 100% agree. I definitely prefer the originals over what's replacing them. Don't know how they thought they were 'advancing the breed'. You bought well! WIth the SBGN series being entry level GS watches, I wonder if they are trying to play off the SKX/SK5 design language that would be familiar...

Re: New watch day!
Thanks Ryan. The SBGN 003 and 005 have been replaced by the 027 and 029, with the 4 o'clock crown and date. Some retailers may still have the 003 and 005 though. I definitely prefer the originals.

Re: New watch day!
Top notch acquisition, Chris with definitely a healthy dose of karma at play. Enjoy. For the Grand Seiko ignoramus that I am, what size is it? You refer to the Sealander, so 39mm? (Yeah, I know I could go and look it up, but that's no fun).  Guy PS> I think I might be able to relate a ...

Re: C65 Dune
Definitely an unpopular opinion, but after the Bel Canto, a BB36 homage is a bit...lacking.
The applied logo is a fantastic addition though.

Re: New watch day!
Congratulations Chris!!! That is an outstanding addition. Absolutely brilliant Grand Seiko. Any back story on the purchase? Nothing exciting. I've been watching for an SBGN 005 or 003 for quite some time. Prices over the last year have been higher than what I wanted to pay, or they were snapped up ...

New watch day!
A new arrival today. This one wasn't planned as my next big purchase, but when something you've been wanting comes along at the right price, you have to go for it. My planned next big purchase will have to get pushed back a bit, as this ate quite a bit of that budget. 20230120_143049.jpg My first wa...

Re: Proper shops
If you were behind someone at the till it was because they were having a blether with the cashier. How the family are doing, what’s the news and politics of the village, who’s arriving or leaving. And you waited your turn because you knew that when you got to the till you’d also have all the time y...

Re: The Bel Canto is the final nail in the coffin of the CW rebrand! Critics vindicated?
So is it time CW stopped being stubborn and accepted the need to revert back in some way to the old, beloved Chr.Ward Old? Sure. Beloved? Maybe not so much. Chr. has no meaning to many people. I don't think it's common outside of the UK to shorten Christopher to Chr. I'm a Christopher and I'd never...

I tend to buy meat at the butcher’s and bread from the bakery as well. I’m old-fashioned, I guess.

Re: Proper shops
I do use online shopping for some items. Primarily low cost items that may be hard to find locally, or that are significantly cheaper online. I don't buy a lot of expensive items online, and have never ordered groceries online. However, there are some expensive items that are inevitably ordered onli...

Re: CWs on mesh
I occasionally wear my C60 on a shark mesh. Less so now that I have the CW bracelet, but it still gets used at times. I prefer the shark mesh to a milanese for divers, but they really don't work with anything else. They are also a pain to size unless you buy one with removable h-links. https://lh3.g...

It is no secret. See here. Thanks Kip. No offence to the OP, but his post was not coherent. I apologise, I thought as, imo, it's a big deal I thought CW fans would know Sent from my AC2003 using Tapatalk No worries mate. I think it's sometimes important to remember that the forum has an internation...

Re: Sellita SW200-1 Variation?
Unless specifically stated COSC they use Élaboré grade, hence the +/-20 s/d spec. Finish is proprietary “Colimaçonné” + rotor engraved with Swish (twin flag) logo. Please correct if wrong. Is the finish made by sellita themselves? I believe Sellita applies the custom (or Tailor Made) finish to the ...
