Re: The tale of a recent order…
I'm sure you already know this, but it's easy to have DPD deliver to one of their local drop-off shops instead of your home address. The option is available through the DPD web site just as soon as they say they are expecting the package. You can then pick it up at your leisure. Not that you'd ever...

Tidlos Watches
I had an email today from Tidlos, saying they were now selling direct. Didn't they previously? Anyway, the watch is a Tidlos Marin. Reasonably priced I should think, at about £763, swiss made, Elabore grade Sellita, but my, it's a beast at 44mm and 14mm thick. £801 for carbon fibre version. It says ...

Re: Sycamore Gap
Re Sycamore Gap. I reckon they could pretty easily (for a government) unearth an existing mature sycamore tree, of maybe 80 years age or even more, and of the tight shape, fly it by helicopter to the Sycamore Gap and replant it. That wouldn't be such a hard project, would it. I am sure there's a sui...

Re: Happy birthday tikkathree!
And thank you again everyone. I've had a lovely day wearing two Swiss watches, neither of this noted brand however. I don't feel like a seventy year old though no-one has yet explained hoe I'm supposed to feel. Either I'm sixty ten or fifty twenty!! The Canadians will be perfectly happy with Soixan...

Re: This could have been so much worse...
Had the pin been working loose over time, do you think. It must be the original bracelet, looking at the omega stamp inside the clasp.

Re: Serial Number
If there's no number on the case back, maybe it wasn't numbered. Does the warranty card show a number?

I misread this as "CW Visits Alton Towers".
That might have been more jolly.

Re: The Non-Curmudgeons Corner
Kip 14 trees, eh? :D Would you like your new watch sent to your mansion, sir? (credit to Vin Diesel in Boiler Room for that one) Do you still recognize the place, or is it like a new back garden? I don't think Brits find it easy to call a garden a "yard". Yards have hard surfaces. And com...

Re: C60 Elite Logo
I expect that the cost of a dial is somewhat negligible compared to the value of the watch. Therefore if the watch is not being retired, then it would most likely to be better to order in new dials, and keep any existing unused dials as repair stock. Maybe any existing old dial already finished stoc...
