Dear xy,

I hope this finds you well.

I am contacting you personally about a delay to your C1 Bel Canto.

As well as being a stunning example of elite horology, the Bel Canto is an incredibly complicated watch to produce, especially to the exacting standards we demand.

Sadly, it has taken us longer than expected to reach the level of production we had planned for the manufacture, which has led to the delay of your watch.

Rather than give you a speculative completion date, I will wait until I’m sure of our production schedule before giving you a precise delivery time.

It is disappointing news – I know, and I apologise – but I also know that your patience and forbearance will be rewarded with the ownership of an exquisite, one-of-a-kind timepiece.

Best regards.

Mike
Received the same. Which is a bummer. I’m going on a trip for most of July, and I was hoping to bring it along as my dress watch. My fear was that it would be delivered while I was away, but it sounds like it’s going to be a little longer than a couple weeks’ delay.

The original email prior to ordering read “We will let you know when you can expect delivery but anticipate orders will be despatched between June and December” so we’re still well within the initial offered period. Though I’ll be candid that I wished there had been better communication along the way. I think they knew well before June 29th that they weren’t going to hit their “in June” date, and the lack of information along the way while they pushed and launched other new products doesn’t provide a ton of confidence for this new customer.

And this is what i got... such a bummer. I paid in full last year and less than 2 weeks before the original delivery date i get the below email... wish i was told earlier...

---------------

I hope this finds you well.

I wanted to let you know that your limited-edition C1 Bel Canto is running behind schedule – and tell you the reason for the delay.

We encountered an issue with the positive coating onto the platine of the green Bel Canto, and while this has now been resolved – and because we’re manufacturing in strict time-order – your watch is going to arrive later than we’d indicated,

At present, and until the manufacturing process is running at previous levels, I don’t want to give you a speculative date that may not be achieved, so ask for your patience and forbearance. We’ll be back in touch as soon as we know the new delivery date.

I’m sorry to be the bearer of such disappointing news, but this is an extraordinary watch, and we’re not prepared to compromise on its quality. However, I believe that once it’s on your wrist, you’ll agree it was worth the wait.

Best regards,

Mike

At least some messages communicate progress and folks here are getting their timepieces.

This Mike guy must of bought a book that provides 1000 ways to say I'm sorry.

Some of the stuff said is kind of what does that mean, for example, we’re manufacturing in strict time-order.

Does that mean orders are being filled based on when you placed your order? If so, the point appears to lack a connection to what the customer is being informed.

I wrote to you recently explaining the issues we’ve been having with the positive coating of the green platine of your Bel Canto.

I’m pleased to say that our technical team, working with the platine manufacturer and the positive coating specialist, has resolved the problem. And we’re now able to resume production.

However, we are quite a long way behind schedule, but can assure you that your Bel Canto will be delivered by mid-August.
Pretty sure based on this, the non LE models would start to ship after..

It arrived! Bit of a surprise after the somewhat poor communication, but I’m delighted with the watch itself. Number 63 … can confirm also there is no leather strap included with the “bracelet version”.

Beautiful! How is the feel of the titanium and how is the titanium bracelet?

The titanium feels nice to me, light as you’d expect, but I’m used to that with other watches. The bracelet is faultless in my opinion, as good as I’ve ever owned in terms of comfort and perceived quality. Easy to adjust as well (I used a 160 Bergeon screwdriver to remove two and a half links for my 7.25 inch wrist).

I'm assuming no one's received any additional updates this month?

I have not
Imagining a factory full of rejected components, watches in various stages of assembly, emails from vendors pleading for approval of change orders, frequent internal debates at CW regarding what good enough really means, Frankenstein versions like a black face and a blue beak, draft messages from Mike about what is really going on

Ok, time for the latest communication I have little to no faith in.

Dear Sucker,
I wrote to you recently explaining the difficulty we, along with our manufacturers had in ramping up production to support the level of demand for your C1 Bel Canto.
I’m pleased to say that our technical team, working with our manufacturing partners have overcome these difficulties and we’re now able to increase our production numbers.
However, we are quite a long way behind schedule, meaning there will be a delay on the original date provided to you. Your new delivery date, I can confirm, will now be Nov 2023.
I can only apologise for this delay but hope you will take comfort from our approach as we would never want a watch to be sent that isn’t of the highest standards. The Bel Canto is a very special watch and, despite the extended wait, I am sure you will be delighted once it is finally in your possession.
Best regards,
Mike

So my targeted July 2023 delivery is pushed out to November 2023.
Kinda laughable for these folks to say your watch has entered production in May and now be saying this BS.
I wouldn't be surprised if their big star, Mr. Seltzer sees how inept these folks are and hits the road to join a shop that can deliver on his brilliant work.
