Despite stating at the beginning of 2018 that I was only going to be buying some straps for my existing watches, I ended up with these  ...

Alpina Startimer LE
Image

C65 GMT
Image

Oris BC Pointer
Image

Omega Seamaster 120m (Sold)
Image

C60 600 GMT 38mm (For Sale)
Image

C60 600 38mm (Sold)
Image

Seiko SNK805 (Sold)
Image

Luch 1-hander

In fairness, I have been trying to stick to some sort of in/out policy.

I bought two this year. In January with some inheritance from my mother I purchased this.

It has become my favourite and most worn watch.

I then accidentally added one of these a few months later.

It had to go back under warranty for a slipping crown which was all sorted out efficiently by CW. However I’m not sure why but the shine has now gone from this one (pun intended). Not sure it will stay longer term.

It was also my 15th wedding anniversary this year, which I found out is now associated with watches instead of the more traditional gift. I dropped a lot of hints and wasn’t disappointed.

Quite a busy year by my usual standards.

Two additions in 2018 - Tudor GMT and the Deep Blue.

The 3 that remain from a busy year of buying and trading. I'm pretty happy with these for now...

Whilst Guy is composing his (long) post, here are the watches I bought in 2018. I have ignored the few that I bought in the year but have since sold (mainly to part finance other buys).

Timings all off the top of my head so may be slightly inaccurate.

Early in the year, the great value Dan Henry 1970.

Whilst on holiday in New York in May, wasn't planning to buy any watches however was passing a jewellers on Broadway and the Hamilton Jazzmaster day date caught my eye...oh well seemed rude not to take up the memorial day discount.

Basel world 2018 saw the introduction of the Tudor BB GMT and I quite fancied a pepsi dial and also a GMT watch as I'd owned neither before, plus it would go with my ETA BBN. I managed to get the first one into the local dealer on 1 June.

After quite a long wait, the much anticipated Halios Seaforth finally arrived in September.

Round about November I acquired a couple of beautiful barely worn CW's. The C11 Makaira Pro with a one off white and orange minute track plus the lovely Kingfisher LE.

Finally it was unplanned but a chance try out of a Panerai got me hooked and inevitably after selling a few to part fund it I bought the Luminor 8 day just before Christmas.

That's it!ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

OK, I'm back, here we go.

In no particular order . . . . .

Think I ought to post my 'other brands' in the SOTC thread.

I’m strangely drawn to the Le Jour, does it get much wrist time? What’s your thoughts on it?
