Yippeee, My First CW...

Post by JOHNG »

Just got back from the Watch Fair, and bought my very first CW watch,
a boxed Malvern C5 SST auto, complete with the handbook and signed
Certificate Of Authenticity, in absolute 'showroom condition', not a mark
on it at all. A couple of questions please, should there be anything else that
came with it when new?, also, how can I tell if the deployent strap is either
the standard, or the alligator one please?
And, if I e-mail Wera, can the remainder of the guarentee be transfered
onto my name?
Very pleased indeed with my purchase.... :D
Thanking you in advance.

Congrats! The C5 is a great watch. When bought directly from CW there is also an outer-box made of carton and a small cloth to polish the watch.

On the inside of the strap it says GENUINE LEATHER on the original strap, and GENUINE ALLIGATOR on the alligator-strap.

And I don't think it is necessary to transfer the guarantee, if you get in trouble within the guarantee-period, CW will fix it regardless of name.

Hi John

Congrats on the C5 a very nice watch, as Hans said there's an outer carton and a very good cloth that comes with it. Not sure about the 60:60 Wera may be able to advise you. I am sure this wont be your last CWL.

Arrr, Silly me for not looking, yes, it does say "Genuine Leather"
and there is not a cloth, nor an outer box, I wonder if Wera
can let me buy those two items, so it's all nice and complete....

Mr Monkey
The Watch Fair was at The Motor Cycle Museum, about
half a mile from the NEC, just outside Birmingham, the
next one being 1st November, I believe they are held
in most area's.
I lost my job some time ago, never been in this position
before, so money and buying watches are somewhat tight
nowadays, but when I seen the Malvern on a dealers stand
boxed, shining in the light of the hall, I knew I had to have it.
I've never seen one 'In the Flesh' before, and I'm VERY impressed
indeed with the quality, appearence, fit and finish, in fact
everything about it oozes quality.
So that is the main reason for me taking so long
to buy one, and it certainely WONT be my last.....

Anyone know if these watch fairs are advertised anywhere or if there is a website? Sounds like my perfect day out!

And some people thought the service from CWL sucked. There was nothing in it for CWL as JOHNG bought it second hand. Well there you go.

:D :D

Enjoy your watch John. Who knows you might like it so much that you might just come back for more.
