Re: Would you wear a womans watch?
Well i sometimes wear some of my vintage watches from the 40's/50's and 70's, all of which are small (some probably smaller than a lot of todays womens watches)......so i would say that if you like it and are not bothered...yes. Blow what others think, buy it for yourself.
If you can read this you are too close to your computer screen....
Re: Would you wear a womans watch?
36mm is pretty tiny for a chronograph though, and cant help but feel it would end up looking a little silly on the end of a bloke, no matter how small his wrist is.
I have tiny wrists, and i find that the 38mm of the aviator is about as small as i could ever possibly go, and even it feels a little more compact that i was hoping. 36mm would be absolutely tiny!!

Re: Would you wear a womans watch?
The difference between a 36mm W7 and a 40mm C3 (one of your original shortlist) is about... |__| ...that much, which doesn't seem worth the compromise to me.
So, to answer the question - NO! (but that's just my opinion )

Re: Would you wear a womans watch?
Wearing women's watches is the start of a slippery slope...
I do like the W7 though, particularly in red. I tried to convince my wife she wanted one, but alas she says they're too big. Didn't stop her nicking one of my 36mm watches (to do the gardening in!!!!) when we sent her Tag off for a service.
Just realised I never answered the question. No, I wouldn't

I thought we were getting into another area entirely, just then, for I mis-read and saw, 'I do like the W7 though, particularly in bed'...sorry...UB

Re: Would you wear a womans watch?
Would I wear a womans watch??? Ermm......Nope!!
The W7 is not what I would describe as a usual womens watch, as it does look bigger!!
I've just bought Mrs M an auto ladies watch which is 30mm, which she really likes, but was suprised it didn't look too big, but at 36mm, I know she won't go for a W7!!
I've also got some old watches around this size that I like to wear occasionally, but they do look rather small, so a chronograph that size just wouldn't look right imo!!
So, a W7 for a guy........not this one

Four saying No , one saying make my own mind up.
Have spent the last 36 hours measuring every watch I can find, some of the neighbours are
looking at me in a strange way.
My Brietling , a chronograph which I have worn for over 35 years is smaller than the W7 !
Must apologise for my ramblings, many of you have purchased/ own a number of watches,
in contrast , at the age of 55 i have only worn three watches
First was a hop-a- long cassidy , dial painted ( by my father) when it got too embarrassing.
Then the Brietling for the 18th. Lately a cheap seiko from Argos.
You can see why i need the advice.
Will post when I have made my mind up

Re: Would you wear a womans watch?
Many makers today don't even call them mens or ladies watches. they simply make them in small, medium or large.
I, like Monkey, and I'll bet Rick also, wear many vintage watches that are are no bigger and many times smaller than the current "small" or ladies watches of today. I wouldn't wear an obvious ladies watch such as the CWL L'Ovale, but if I liked the W7 bettter than the C7 and it was in a color I liked..I would not hesitate.
The perception of the watch is sometimes what the manufacturer calls it. If you are not into the large or mega sizes of the... day wear what you like. I see many women buying and wearing so called mens watches because they don't like the small sizes. It dosen't seem to bother them. Just today I was wearing a 1962 Omega that is 24mm and could just as easily be worn by my wife.

Re: Would you wear a womans watch?
The trend in fashion nowadays (again) is for women to wear larger watches. This last happened in the early Nineties.
So basically it is down to colour and shape to determine what is a woman's watch.

Re: Would you wear a womans watch?
I'm with Kip; I wear vintage watches on occasion and they are all of a smaller diameter than those of today. To my eye, they don't look out of place...UB

Re: Would you wear a womans watch?
This thread made me do quite a lot of thinking (you may be able to smell the burning). I've just looked at the W7 lineup and decided that yes, I would wear one - probably the blue or white - but I doubt I'd buy one. What that says about me is anyones guess.
Re: Would you wear a womans watch?
I confess
I bought the W7SWK
Have shown it ( well bragged ) to a number of friends, not
one has Shouted that it was girly timepiece.
Perhaps a bright pink strap might give the game away???
