Re: Would you like to see a 40mm version of the Trident?
Looking at the poll results, I think I'll be going against the majority of voters here, but I'd say yes - have a 40mm version.
That would fill a big gap - I've read so many comments on forums with people saying that 40-41mm is their ideal size.
If CW introduced a 40mm version I expect they'd shift them pretty quickly.
Personally I'd choose a 40mm over a 42 - neither too big nor too small, should keep most people happy.
Of course, it could equally go the other way and keep NOBODY happy............

Re: Would you like to see a 40mm version of the Trident?
I would like a 40mm version as well. Would it make financial sense? Maybe not but it would be my ideal size. It's not a deal breaker though because I think both the 38mm and 42mm will work well for me. If a 40mm version was around that would be my preferred choice.

I voted no, but if people want it and can persuade them to make it, good luck. It makes no odds to me.

40 mm is my sweet spot for sports watches, so yes, I'd like to see one.
Oh well, I'll just have to get a Sub.

I disagree. I think a 1mm difference is noticeable, and 2mm can be very noticeable.blowfish89 wrote:This! Its just 1-2 mm, get over the size snobbery.jmarchitect wrote:I concur that it is good of CWL to provide the C60 in two sizes as it is, without throwing in a 40mm version. Whenever the question of size crops up, I usually reach for the nearest scale rule to visualise the size differences that are being discussed. 2mm is so minuscule as to be irrelevant. Would the difference between 42 and 40mm be so noticeable?

sorry if i felt the need to explain my thinking.
So youre saying you dont want to see a 40mm trident because you think its unrealistic that CWL will produce one?
I respect your opinion, but I find it difficult to follow - I also think its unrealistic, but it doesnt stop me wanting one.

Re: Would you like to see a 40mm version of the Trident?
i'm saying i don't think it will happen because of that. i'm not all that interested in one, either, hence why i actually voted no along with 19 others. but i don't think it's wrong to explain why i didn't think it would happen. should we all just vote and make no comment? is there a real point to the poll outside of reality?
i completely appreciate where the OP is coming from. i had a similar conversation on another forum with some users and the owner of H2O/helberg about the size of his newest watch. and while some of us wished it was going to be smaller, he had legitimate reasons why it wasn't realistic. while i wish it would be smaller, the understanding of *why* it wouldn't be smaller helped me not be as frustrated about liking the design but not the size.

I'm definitely In the 'no this would be a complete waste of time' category. What would be the point of having the same model watch in three different sizes with only 2mm difference?

Re: Would you like to see a 40mm version of the Trident?
Although I agree that a 40mm is a nice size, and actually works quite well for me, I personally think not, from a business standpoint. I wouldn't think it would make sense to have 3 sizes so close together. Not to mention an inventory nightmare. You could solve the inventory issue by limiting to perhaps a couple of colors.
This would then open the door for the people that want more colors available. When it was a 42mm only that was available, it seems that most wanted a 38mm as that could then qualify as a unisex. Now that we have 38 and 42 sizes, plus the addition of quartz, we have 133 possible models. CWL must draw the line somewhere and I doubt that all these colors will remain available for a lengthy period of time. They can't all sell well...can they.
Perhaps if the original was a 44mm then a 40mm would have made more sense, But I do think the the 38mm and 42mm works for more people overall. A 40 would probably take sales from the other two sizes and although you might pick up a few more, something would have to give and then we are right back where we started if a size gets eliminated.
Yes, 40 mm would be nice, but I vote no. Not needed.

Re: Would you like to see a 40mm version of the Trident?
It is very difficult to choose one of the three options here. I think that 40mm is a decent size for a watch like this, but I like my 38mm C61. And yes, two mm can decide whether I am going to buy a watch or won't. This is why I opted for "keep the current sizes and add the 40mm". In my "watch world of dreams" there would be a 40mm and a 37mm or 36mm model, and watches would get smaller and smaller until we reach the old 34mm men's watches size . I wish CW offered more 36mm models... For men and women. By the way, what happened to the plan to offer different strap sizes for smaller wrists?

I think this is still in the plans.Serlo wrote: By the way, what happened to the plan to offer different strap sizes for smaller wrists?

FWIW my wife and daughter both have vintage mens watches that they wear with bright coloured straps. Works well. Also I have said before I think cwl should consider watches for both sexes like the old Amelia and art deco ones.Serlo wrote:...the old 34mm men's watches size . I wish CW offered more 36mm models...
