quote="blowfish89"]If you have 7.5" wrists, the 42mm C65 should be the perfect size. A 38mm will look too girlie small IMO.[/quote]

Re: Would anyone else like to see a smaller C65?
I think you hit the nail on the head here - they likely took the C65 and put it in the C60 case. I'd like for them to do it with a C61 casejoegrundy wrote:I guess when I asked the question I wondered if CW sized the C65 as they did because of "economies of scale" i.e. they could use the same cases, bracelets and other components as used on the C60 Trident. Or whether it was a marketing decision that "big watches are trendy"... so let's make it a whopper.

I have 7" wrists , but any watch below 40mm looks too small on me.

i think this watch would be perfect in the 38-40mm range. That said I have 7 inch wrists and the two watches that are most comfortable are my 42mm C60 and my 43mm Steinhart 02. The key here, they hug the wrists better than any other watch I own.

After receiving my C65 yesterday I will have to say the 42mm is taking some getting used to. The thing looks huge even next to my Seiko Monster which is also a 42. The lack of a diver bezel really makes it seem large, although I'm sure it will grow on me soon. If a 40mm were released in the next 60 days, at least if I were to make the decision today, I would be sending it back for the 40. Just an opinion from someone with a small (6.75inch) wrist.
Here it is next to a Seiko Monster for comparison.

^^^ Stick with it. The Monster is particularly "small" for 42mm IMO. I think you'll quickly get used to the C65 and from the wrist shot you posted yesterday, it looks fine.

I'm planning on it, I'm sure it will grow on me. The guarantee is nice peace of mind though.downer wrote:^^^ Stick with it. The Monster is particularly "small" for 42mm IMO. I think you'll quickly get used to the C65 and from the wrist shot you posted yesterday, it looks fine.

I can't even wear my C20. It looks enormous, and the sticky-out lugs make it wear even bigger. CWL say it's 40 mm, but my calipers say 41.5.
My 42 mm speedy looks and wears much better.

Re: Would anyone else like to see a smaller C65?
I'd love a 38mm C65! 42mm is too big for my small 6.5" wrists... The C61 is a perfect size for me.
Then again, I would expect CWL to only create a smaller C65 if they think women would be attracted to the design (given that they create the C61 to be unisex).

I wouldn't hold your breath Zetaplus - a few of us small wristers have been asking for more 38mm diameter watches for some time now - the answer from CW is more and more and more 42mm releases oh and one 40mm the Slimline - it's obviously a commercial decision - they don't think it's worth producing 38mm watches .
Interestingly only 3 C61s are now available on UK website - either they've sold out - or they're phasing out 38mm watches - who knows - they certainly don't tell anyone who emails and asks !

There is a move to smaller watches that Chris has mentioned. The C9 5 Day with be introduced in a smaller 40mm format in spring. The Chat with Chris specifically mentions small watches.

The company is still quite small and their planning has to fit in the schedules of what is in the pipeline. Chris has said that there is a lot more that he would like to do but they don't have the bandwidth to do it.

40mm is a good size; big enough to look modern but small enough to fit more wrists. I can wear 42mm watches without any problems, but a 40mm C65 would be great in my opinion.

Right, I recall that Chris had mentioned smaller watches in the pipeline. But to your point SimonB, whatever comes out has to be commercially viable. I get that, and do hope for smaller unisex versions of some of these popular hits. I vote with my wallet! Hopefully others are too.ianblyth wrote:There is a move to smaller watches that Chris has mentioned. The C9 5 Day with be introduced in a smaller 40mm format in spring. I'm not that sure the C65 uses the exact same case as C60, although I'm sure it was easy to modify the latter for the new C65 case. There is now a thinner steel bezel that is part of the main case instead of a thicker separate-piece diver's bezel. So the dial window/opening is of larger circumference and they can't just reuse the C60 crystal. The 2 cases appear to have different heights as well based on the official site, although that may be because of the diver's bezel.
Due to its larger dial face, I feel the C65 will benefit from having a smaller version.
