Completely? It is still going on and in the past CW has added more stuff every day for several days following the kickoff.

Re: Winter Sale - Extreme Disappointment
Not disappointed as wasn’t after anything, but find the process a bit odd and I get the frustration. I’ve bought many watches new from CW (only one in the sale) since 2009, although last purchases were in 2023. Got the email at 15:05 so might just be my emails slowing it down. But other thread suggests people saw it earlier and people clearly got it later. I did try the website, typing ‘clearance’ in the search about 14:30 and nothing came up so checked again at 15:00, before email came in!
As noted on other threads, CW do normally release more stock each day for a few days so worth keeping an eye out.

Re: Winter Sale - Extreme Disappointment
Based on past experiences, I waited for the link to be posted here which was within seconds of the start. I still have not received the email though I signed up for it, am on the email list already, and have purchased from them in the past. Makes no sense to me.

Re: Winter Sale - Extreme Disappointment
I can empathise fully with anyone who is disappointed at not receiving an email they believed they had every right to receive. It is something that perhaps needs to be taken up with CW.
As to the content of the sale itself – well, that’s a bit of a lottery. To my mind, passing up on something you really like in the hope that it will fall into your lap a few months later at 30% off might be deemed to be somewhere between naïve and foolhardy. If I’m not prepared to pay full price for something at launch, I’m probably not interested enough to pursue it should it appear in the sale.
My last purchase was 18 months ago, so I’m by no means regular, but I bought it at launch because I was unwilling to take the chance on it being available in a sale months later. Since then they haven’t produced anything I was wild about buying at full price or any price, so I haven’t even looked at what’s available.
Back in the early days I did buy a couple of things because they were in the sale and I felt it might be churlish not to. But I quickly realised that a bargain is only a bargain if it was something you wanted in the first place. I usually sold them on fairly quickly.

Re: Winter Sale - Extreme Disappointment
I got 2 emails
One 30 mins before the sale and one 1 hour after.
But when when I checked the sale 30mins before the watch I saw that I wanted (the dragonfly bel canto) was already somehow sold. So I`m guessing maybe some people got their email 1 hour before? but that`s weird to announce that you'll send the emails at 3GTM and then sent some emails to people an hour early and to some an hour after (and then to some never)

Re: Winter Sale - Extreme Disappointment
I'd suggest that all you've missed out on is the first flush. Keep the sale page open, CW have a long history of adding extra stock throughout the preview and throughout the sale.

Re: Winter Sale - Extreme Disappointment
I got the e mail at around 3pm. I had a look, only one watch tickled my pickle but it had sold. Honestly, it wasn't meant to be so upwards and onwards. I'm sure something, CW or otherwise will soon grab my attention.

I did get the email at 1500 on the dot, but I found the unhidden page myself about an hour before that. It was all over Facebook long before the emails went out. I was surprised to see some Bel Canto's and Lumiere's available, but not surprised at the speed they disappeared!
Nothing for me this time. Nothing new released that I like since the original Dune release so I was just sitting back watching the fun!

Re: Winter Sale - Extreme Disappointment
Such an important message that seems to skip so many people by generally. Including some next door neighbors of mine who stopped by one night to ask if I wanted a supermarket roast chicken they’d bought because it was hugely reduced. They weren’t going to eat it as they were vegetarian…Amor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 7:30 pm … a bargain is only a bargain if it was something you wanted in the first place.

that`s so strange. why would they announce the link on Facebook so early ?Macdaz wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 8:17 pm I did get the email at 1500 on the dot, but I found the unhidden page myself about an hour before that. Re: Winter Sale - Extreme Disappointment
It's quite possible that I am being dim, but if you search "sale" from the CW home page you appear to get a similar result to the link distributed today via email.

Re: Winter Sale - Extreme Disappointment
Today was billed as a sale preview day, was it not? Yes, insiders were given the jump on the sale which starts tomorrow. No, not all insiders got the invitation in a timely way. It’s disappointing to miss out on a deal when you know others got what you didn’t. Let’s hope for interesting restock options tomorrow and in the balance of the January sale period.
It’s 8:15PM GMT (I’m east coast US) and I still have not received the email. I did sign up for it - using two different accounts. I saw here the sale was live, jumped, and even got the watch I wanted in my basket. It was my payment that failed. By the time I’d cleared up the security with my bank the watch was gone. Crossing fingers for better luck tomorrow.

Re: Winter Sale - Extreme Disappointment
I somehow have a few email addresses registered with CW - my 2 personal plus also my work email
I got the emails at 3:06 and 4:00pm on my personal and 4:04pm on my work email address. @OllyW kindly posted the first sign of the sale link at 2:36pm and on the back of that I bought the bracelet that I was after for less than half price. I can see how some regular customers of CW would be a little miffed at getting the email at 4pm or not all, after which point a number of desired targets have been sold. Tbh the best way to be early at the party is to keep an eye on the forum (I'm guessing the CWE FB group also posted something early doors although I didn't check).
Let's not forget that today was only the preview and there will be plenty more shiny baubles being added to the sale pages by CW over the next week or two, often it is fairly random and it is unlikely to be the case that all the best stuff has already gone (from my past recollection of how these sales go).
