One question, though. How on earth do you remove the rubber strap!

Here's a link to a potential PVD buckle. Paw3001 recommended this one and I just ordered one. I'd recommend this website having used them several times before.

Here's a picture (thanks Paw)..

Concerning your second question (how to remove the rubber strap), the answer is a combination of spring bar tool, swearing, patience and luck!
No worries Downer and thanks for the credit. The buckle in the picture is the 24mm version but they are available as 22 or 26mm as well.

Plus just want to say I have never had any trouble changing the rubber straps on CWs, just pull the lug end in and slip the spring bar tool down onto the spring bar between strap and lug and pop it's off. Now don't get me started on the bracelets...those are swines! :D

With a bit of practice I have found the leather and rubber straps quite easy to remove (although I don't have a C600). Even the cheap spring bar tool I have works with those. The metal ones are harder as the spring bar is covered with just a little gap and the metal does not bend out of the way like rubber or leather does. ;kettensaege; However with the fine ended Bergeon tool I have found that I have got pretty good now with the metal ones as well. A loupe (or at least reading glasses to boost magnification) helps.

russraff wrote:I had a Glycine BlackJack watch that came with interchangeable straps and a tool with a thin metal flat ended pin. I could change those straps as there was a hole, through the whole thickness of the lugs, into which the tool's pin could be inserted, thereby compressing the spring bar. However, the C600 does not have a hole through the lugs, so I am assuming that you compress the rubber strap and the spring bar is revealed and can then be removed?

I could just take this to the local jewellers and let them do it...

Yes Russell,

Just compress the strap ans slide the spring bar tool in so that the V end sits around the pin. Then press towards the strap until the tip of the bar is free of the hole.

You could take it to a jeweller and some will do it for free, but others will charge and it could be cheaper to buy the tool and do it yourself.

Another skill learned :D

Well, all has arrived and I have taken some photos at the link below. Beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that but I think it's turned out just fine??

Thanks for all of the help I have received and to Stevo who did the strap in super quick time.
