In a hundred years time your offspring will say that you took part in the start up of a very famous company Christopher Ward Universal, whose watches are used on the Moon and on Mars. They are also standard equipment on the space station.

Well who knows what can happen but with original designs and efficient costings CWL will go a lot further.
Good answer and a pleasant thought too. I am in for the ride.

One of the watches is an automatic copy of a pilot watch and the other is a quartz copy of a Tag chrono carrera??

Are Christopher Ward watches that good? Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to knock anyone but I need convincing! Why not spend a few more quid and get a Hamilton?? Ok, it's American but you get Swiss automatic movement and no wait.

Convince me!
I have supported CW watches by ordering five of them over some time, I have to say that the purchasing experience in every case has been plagued with failed delivery, secondary and tertiary delivery dates.

I accept that this forum is supported by a core of fervent customers/enthusiasts but I have to say that a business cannot survive on this basis, it has to meet the expectations of the average customer who has no specific loyalty to the cause.

The customer is King, meet or exceed their expectations else you will not survive. If the CW forum supporters can keep the companies head above water then the business model will survive, I would suggest this is not the case and Chris should consider his strategy and customer purchasing experience through some more .

Brian W has some very valid points.

I second that. I also had the same ordering problems. I am not saying they are not trying to improve but they need to do better as they are not the only company in the world trying to do quality watches at a reasonable price.

I am not naive, and although not counting the Swiss delays, all of my orders have been flawless including the actual delivery within one a day time frame of actual shipment, I know that there have been some issues.

I think perhaps we should take this as an opportunity to help Chris out a little. He may, and probably does, already know where the shortcomings are, but then again, perhaps not everything....

Therefore I have some questions for Brian, Ipp and anyone else who has suffered with some difficulties, real or perceived. Recent Swiss issues aside... I also remember the bracelet issues with the LE and we know Chris was made aware of that, so lets not include that for now. I would also not like to include the fact that there is not always an expected delivery date on the website. We have already beaten that one to death.

1. What type of problems?

2. Was CWL made aware of the issue(s) constructively? If not, Why?

3. Was the issue(s) resolved to your satisfaction?

4. Was the end product worth it?

5. Have you ever returned a watch because it didn't meet your expectations as far as quality or appearance?

Kip,

I believe that I am a very reasonable person and having been in business myself for many years I always try to understand the supplier's issues as well as the customer's. If I order an item that is in a catalogue or on a website that says normal delivery is five days then I would not be overly annoyed if it took two weeks, I would even accept a month if I was informed of a problem and did not need to take the proactive stance myself.

To answer your questions:

1) Late delivery in every case, normally due to CWL being let down by a supplier.

2) Yes, I have always informed them of the issues and asked to be kept informed.

3) No. The delays have exceeded the delivery dates and normally I have needed to chase them to find out why the product has not arrived. In the latest case a secondary delivery date promised for October was missed and I had to enquire after the date.

4) Yes. I have no problems with the products quality and have not complained about that.

5) No, I have not. My issue is not with quality or product.

Please understand that I like the products and hope that CWL can become a very successful outfit. Customers IMO are fickle people and in general will become easily disenfranchised if not kept informed and compensated for problems not of their own making.

Thank you Brian. I want to reiterate that I am not questioning your judgement or character nor that of anyone else who has had some sort of difficulty. I am only playing fact finder here to perhaps see if we can help out to alleviate real or perceived problems.

Thanks for your honest responses. Anyone else?

Essentially I had the same problems others on this forum talked about. What surprised me was it was 2 out of 2.

My biggest dissatisfaction at the moment is related to the C8. I looked back and I have been looking forward to it since May. At first, it was targeted to be released in July/Aug, then end Aug, Sept, Oct and now maybe this month..

There are many competitors in this market. For CWL sake, I hope they can sort it out asap.

Brian,

You don't say where you are ,but why not try calling them. I've spoken to Margaret, Wera and Chris on several times and they have all be,without exception, helpful & professional.
