Why no more worldtimers?

Post by abk212 »

I'm new to the forum but was curious for folks' take. Why are there no current worldtimer offerings? It seems strange that cw would develop an entire watch category and then discontinue it a few years later without a real replacement, especially when the offering was at such a unique pricepoint in the industry.

It is really hard to say. I am guessing, in the end, they didn't sell very well. I too thought they were a unique offering.

I've always enjoyed proper world timers. A watch that you can glance at and see multiple times zones. They could have made some excellent models as did Frederique constant

Do you mean the Christopher ward C1 isn't a proper worldtimer?

Yes, it is. I was hoping that they would have used that movement in other more classic models.

I don't get it either. I love mine. Such a great piece.
