My wife is coming around to a different opinion, try this line of thought out.

The UK pound is becoming weaker every year. If you just hold money in a bank it will disappear in several years with real inflation at around 5 per cent. A good quality watch is actually a hedge against inflation as it is an asset that can be sold later and retain a lot of it's value. The same is true for bikes and musical instruments, high end hi-fi but not cars.

If people with money don't spend it then the recession will continue. If you are lucky enough to have spare money now you should be doing all you can to spend it on products that have involvement from UK companies, be it local restaurants, watch companies, phones with ARM designed processors in them, Barbour coats and John Smedley cardigans....

Pay off your debts and don't spend money you don't have but if you have it then use it.

HEEHEE!

Even I can relate. I've been leaving the catalog around the house and he asks me why.

Sadly not; she never wears one and she thinks that I'm a bit of a Sad-O for looking at forums.

There is an other way...
Instead of loosing your time trying to defend yourself with your healthy way of life, and your love for music, try to attack about handbags and shoes... You only have two wrists for your watches, she only has to feet for her shoes...

Could work... maybe... :problem:

I had to rescue the £50 voucher from the recycling bin last week after Mrs FT decided to clear the corner of the kitchen reserved for all the sh*te of the day, so my sympathies are with you.

EDIT: And with that post I become a "Guru" - perhaps I should show that to the wife. Actually, maybe not... I can hear the laughter already.
