Why Bel Canto name?

Post by JohnT »

Good morning,
I've been looking at all the beautiful watches, and was intrigued behind the 'bel canto' name for the bel canto series.

Does anyone know why CW chose this lovely name?
Thanks
John

Welcome. Do please visit the Member Introduction section and tell us about yourself. 8)

Regarding your question, it’s an operatic aria style that means “Beautiful Song/Singing” in Italian.

Visit the CW Archive entry and click the “More Information” button

There’s also a punning reference to “bell”.

That's interesting, thank you.
I can see the Italian link as well.
I had thought that some of the designers / founders might have been interested in opera which was why they selected the 'Bel Canto' name.

In 2021 MeisterSinger produced their sonnerie au passage watch, the Bell Hora.

Discussed here…

Bell Hora? Bel Canto?

Maybe also Bel Canto because the gong is tuned to a pleasant note.

We have some wind chimes that are tuned, and they do sound pleasant. They actually hang indoors and we brush past them now and again..
