Hope you get well soon
The problem is that changing the date is not as described in the manual by pulling out crown to position 2 etc and the fact that not only is it a bit of a pain winding the hour hands through to date change but it appears from other owners that it feels like there is way too much resistance when this operation is carried out and it feels as if it's harming the movement.
If this is how it's meant to be I'm ok with it as long as I can be assured no damage is being caused. It is a cock up by CW though because the manual is incorrect!
The hands not lining up is another story and if mine does this it's going back. I sent a C6 back because the second hands completely missed the minute markers and it annoyed me because I've had cheaper watches able to do just that. There were other faults with my C6 also.
Where is my C7?

Re: Where is my C7?
Just caught up with the other thread... yep, mine works the same way. i.e. to advance the date you have to pull out the crown to the step that advances the hour and then move that forward. It is a bit odd I guess.
edit: Just saw you replied while I was typing My advice, for what it's worth, is wait for it to arrive and see what you make of it. You can always send it back if it's not for you. I may well still see if they'll sort the hand alignment out after Christmas and the post dies down a bit.
edit2: I'd agree that it does seem like there's too much resistance when you move the hour hand.

Re: Where is my C7?
Well I've waited this long I may as well see it out to the end. I've spoken to every member of call staff in the past few weeks, I make a habit of calling them every week to check progress (feel like I know them quite well now). The trouble is the problem has become a bit embarrassing for them now and they've run out of things to tell me so they are not returning my calls and the person who said "always ask for me" is suddenly not available anymore even though I can hear their voice in the background.
Good news though the girl said to me today, I'm showing as "In packing"
Oh thank you I replied. I didn't tell her that it's been that way for 48 of the 53 days I've been waiting!

Re: Where is my C7?
Hey,
I initially raised the date adjustment issue in the other forum topic. I think its pretty much established now that this is how the 252.271 mechanism works and that it is not a design fault. Its just a quirk of that particular mechanism.
Am very happy with the watch ... go for it ... I am sure you won't regret it

Noticed that on mine too ... Is it some sort of adjustment that is required? Have you experienced this with any of your other CW watches?ctafield wrote:
My real gripe with my C7 is how the hand's on mine don't line up when the time's at the hour. It's driving me potty. I have to wait until about 5 past before the hour hand lines up properly.

Re: Where is my C7?
If the hands don't line up, why are you complaining? Just return it and get a new one. Sorted.
Re: Where is my C7?
I've dropped CWL an email about hand alignment on mine. I have a feeling I won't get a reply and will have to end up sending the watch back anyway.
